Saturday Under Armour Guard Standouts

I love the fact Schelsky plays on balance and gets to his spots before pulling up and finding teammates with live dribble passes. With a compact frame, Schelsky is hard to bump off his driving lane and has the strength to handle physicality on both ends of the court. After knocking down three straight 3-pointers to open the game, Leonardo pulled a heat check shot from 25+ feet that went in nothing but net. Almost always those heat check type shots don't go in but Leonardo is that level of shooter where he knocked it down. Obieke is a quick guard who can blow by the defense with one crossover move and score in the paint. Obieke also made multiple 3-pointers off the dribble, showing his ability to flat out score the basketball in different ways. Gilbert can fill it up from the guard position without needing to dribble the ball a ton to create space to shoot. Usually those types of scorers translate well to the college level where the game is simplified and usually one player isn't dominating the ball. I liked watching the Stars 17 U group this weekend as they have a nice blend of skill, size and shooting on their roster.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
