Prince has been highly productive throughout the spring, and it has been interesting to see the different roles he has taken on depending on the team he is playing for. With HoopRoots HGSL, he often serves as their biggest player, which leads to him spending much of his time operating on the interior. In that setting, you do not always get to see the full scope of his skill set, particularly his perimeter game. Playing with Cushing, however, Prince has shown that he is capable of impacting the game both inside and out. He does an excellent job attacking closeouts and putting pressure on the defense off the dribble. He also has a knack for tracking down second-chance opportunities and making winning plays around the basket. Prince already holds several Division I offers, and based on the way he has performed this spring, I expect his recruitment to continue gaining momentum heading into the second live period and throughout July.

I see a lot of Lucas Morillo in Eli Prince. The 6-foot-6 point-forward doesn’t have an offensive weakness. He can make shots from the perimeter, the mid range, and at the rim, but he can also handle the rock against shorter defensive pests and makes phenomenal decisions once he touches the paint—he processes the game at an impressively high level for his size and age and should only improve in that regard at Cushing. He has a great feel for the game and uses his physicality to effectively displace other wings his size, and he should fit in wonderfully around other talented players and shooters. Prince might never reach the level of dominance Morillo achieved at Newman, but the Cushing postgrad is going to turn heads this season and is a surefire D1 prospect.

Prince is a big time player. The 6-foot-6 guard reminds me SO MUCH of Lucas Morillo in terms of his ability to combine size and length with physicality, strength, and supreme skill. He’s a point-forward on the floor and really impresses with his passing vision and feel—whether it be from the post, as a driver, or in transition—but he can also score for himself from all three levels. He’s more athletic than you think, and he has an edge to him on the court that allows him to consistently compete. Prince doesn’t really have an offensive weakness and has everything D1 coaches are looking for, so I would be surprised if he doesn’t find a fit at that level. Prince will reclass to 2027 and head to Cushing, and I can’t wait to watch him there.

Loved this willingness to rebound and was a magnet on the glass for his HoopRoots squad. Prince took a ton of high percentage shots around the bucket which he converted on a majority of his chances. He found ways to get to the charity stripe. His touch from three from the game I saw was didn’t seem as deadly as I saw from him in past viewing experiences.

Prince is a smooth operating swingman who can find the bucket in an abundance of ways. He was a threat to extend the floor with his shooter. His length and quickness allow him to contain players on defense. He has no problem converting tough finishes. Prince’s best basketball is ahead of him and has a ton of untapped potential. Should see a ton of LM+/MM- programs knock down his doors in the summer.
