May 2nd-4th I attended the annual Bash in the Desert at the Phhacility and Cortez HS locations. It had exactly 60 teams total and I watched almost every team in 17U and 16U and some of the 15U teams to form a good opinion of the field.

Here is my 5th team All-Individual Teams for 17U:

[player_tooltip player_id='2784885' first='Owen' last='Brackmann'] Horizon (Peak 17 Regional)

A good sized forward with some skill and athleticism. He plays the right way and is a very unselfish passer. He will hit the three, rip thru to the basket to score, dunk it on the break, shoot it from mid-range and rebounds well and runs the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='2435075' first='Lincoln' last='Cooper'] Liberty ([program_tooltip program_id='2144495' first='Team' last='Elevate'] 17)

A bigger shooting guard has grown a few inches in the last year. He is a true late bloomer and his best basketball is ahead of him. He is a good passer and he has a really pretty shooting stroke from the three point line. He has a little wiggle to create his own shot and his bounce is coming in.

[player_tooltip player_id='1950116' first='Ethan' last='Hayes'] Horizon (Peak 17 National)

A bigger wing with one of the prettier shooting strokes in the tournament. He will catch and shoot from the three point line off the catch and get hot in a blink of an eye. He can get to the basket to the basket with long strides.

[player_tooltip player_id='2444019' first='Gavin' last='Henss'] Horizon (Peak 17 Regional)

A thicker framed scoring point guard can shoot it from mid to the three point line. He uses his sturdy frame to get to the basket getting downhill. He is a sneaky good passer and decision maker to find a teammate. The trio of Huskies form a sleeper team in 5A this season!

[player_tooltip player_id='2506427' first='Javani' last='Jones'] Valley Vista (AZ Legacy 17)

An undersized thicker wing forward has a high feel for the game to go along with some skill. He can shoot the three off the catch and he rebounds well and will take the ball off the glass and make a play. He is strong inside to handle bigger forwards and can also defend on the perimeter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2427441' first='Landen' last='Marker'] EVAC ([program_tooltip program_id='2422356' first='3D' last='Hoops'] 17)

A wing forward does a lot of the little things with cuts off the ball, rebounds well, he is a smart player and he can score. He has a good-looking shooting stroke from mid to the three and will get to the rim. A nice newcomer who plays at EVAC.

Savion Ruth PG 6'0 2026 University (MPIRE Basketball Club 17)

A real point guard with a thicker frame. He is tough and strong and can get downhill with his burst of speed. He is an unselfish player and will make a play. He can hit the three off the catch or dribble and he is quick on the ball defensively.

[player_tooltip player_id='2491771' first='Mykell' last='Stacy'] Phhoenix Prep (AZ Legacy 17)

A skilled scoring guard who can shoot the three and has the speed to get into the paint and score with runners, floaters and lay ups. He gets hot quickly and has ultimate confidence in his abilities to score from all levels.

[player_tooltip player_id='2855897' first='Jaemin' last='Walker'] Mission Heights Prep (Steelers Elite 17)

Another newcomer for me is a two-sport athlete who is fast, tough and skilled. He has a super quick burst with the ball in his hands past most defenders. He will score getting to the basket or get fouled plus he has a high level mid-range jumper with proper elevation.
