Prospect Spotlight: Kade Sorenson (2019)
Capital’s Kade Sorensen is an up-and-coming guard in the Boise area, and has a big year ahead in terms of exposure and recruitment.
We recently caught up with the 6-foot-1 junior, and he explained to PHID his style of play, strengths, and how he likes to make an impact on the floor.
“My strengths as a player are that I can shoot the ball really well, and that leads to defenses having to come out hard on me; but then when they do, I can attack the rim and open up shots for my teammates,” said Sorenson.
“And on defense, I obviously try and keep my man in front of me, and get steals, rebounds, basically anything I can do to help the team.
As a starting guard with the Eagles, Sorensen has flourished, and says his role is to can open jumpers and simply do whatever he can to help the team.
“Things have been going well, our record in conference is 3-2. In the beginning of the season we were in a slump, but we’ve really turned it up and learned how to play as a team, and things have been going a lot better,” said Sorenson.
“My role on the team is to knock open shots down, be a team player, get rebounds and just do what I can to contribute.”
“Goals for me, I would say are to get more rebounds, that’s something I’ve been working on a lot, and more assists as well.”
Just as soon as his junior season complete, the talented guard will head right into his 17U offseason with Hoop Dreams Idaho. He’s been with the program since fourth-grade.
“We’ll be traveling around a lot this summer,” said Sorenson. “My goals for recruitment is just to go to those tournaments, play well and be seen by those college coaches.”
