Expert Analysis
Owen Siebring | Prep Hoops Scout
Grant was a critical piece of Breakaway’s run to the Gold bracket title on Sunday, and put on some elite performances all weekend.
Grant has a perfect skillset for a point guard: he has speed, strength, and confidence shooting the ball at all 3 levels. He’s in complete command of the game when he’s in transition, and he’ll take it at you hard when he’s driving downhill.
It’s a marvel how many ways this kid can make layups. He remains in control, even when a shot is contested. And he can beat you both with a fadeaway jumper, or a soft touch at the rim.
Grant had masterful performances all through the weekend, and especially drew attention in the tournament championship when he scored 21 points in a blowout win over Mean Streets.

Grant is another member of an elite Breakaway team. But even in the midst of several star players, he finds a way to showcase his own skillset.
Grant is just a blur on a fast break. He handles the ball with confidence, and likes to get downhill in a hurry. He’s got the speed to blow past the defense, and the strength to go through a defender when he needs to. He’s a guy who’s so trustworthy when he gets the ball in his hands.
Grant’s shot-diversity is also off the charts. He can make an off-balance layup, or a midrange jumper. And he’s got a confident 3-point stroke from the corner.
Grant said after one of his team’s wins that he likes to control the pace of the game, and distribute the ball. But he does enjoy the opportunity to score when the ball comes to him.
