Joshua Burish | Prep Hoops Scout
One of Wauconda’s most athletic and well-known players, according to Head Coach Weidner. Didn’t play in the first half against Fremd, but came out in the second and provided an immediate spark. Showed solid post work, effectively sealing defenders, and brought high-intensity defense throughout. Highlight-reel athleticism included a one-hand dunk in transition after splitting two defenders and a tough one-hand catch at the side of the board, switching hands mid-air to finish a layup. A dynamic playmaker who can impact both ends of the floor.
In the following game on Wednesday against Grant Community, he filled the stat sheet, 12 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks.

Salemi showcased a variety of skills Saturday afternoon. He’s an underrated athlete as a 6’2” Guard. Defensively, Salemi has a tremendous hands and forces tons of turnovers while reddening on-bal. There’s a mix of both athleticism and creativity when attacking the rim. Something I don’t often see in guys like him. His ability to be an effective rebounder and ball-handler was also shown in this contest. A sure-fire sleeper for small schools.

Salemi is a versatile wing who plays with great physicality. He’s very strong, which allows him to easily discard defenders as he attacks the basket, something he does well. He can go either direction and finish with both hands. Salemi handles well for his size and always keeps his eyes up, searching for the open man. Salemi can stretch the floor, but he’s at his best when driving downhill.
