Marion Classic: 2020 Evaluations
Last week, the Marion Holiday Classic was a great event to see a lot of different teams from the northern part of the state with multiple teams from Fort Wayne and the Region, it gave us a look at a new crop of teams. Here are our breakdowns of the 2020 prospects at the event.
D’Andre Davis – 6’4 SG 2020 – Lawrence Central (IN)
Davis was solid as well and continued to show his ability to shoot off the catch. He’s been solid from the perimeter but also in the mid-range. His handles looked good once again and gave him the ability to create a little more but with Terry and Pack, he’s being at the benefit of easier looks and he is making the most of it. Keeping up his efficiency will be key but so far so good for him. Finished with 12 points on 3/8 shooting with 6 rebounds and 4 assists.
Nijel Pack – 5’10 PG 2020 – Lawrence Central (IN)
Another very good game for Pack as he was really aggressive and showed a little more athleticism than we saw in the previous game. He was attacking the rim a ton but wasn’t as crisp finishing at the rim. Lighthouse’s length hurt him at times but he will be able to figure it out pretty well. Finished with 17 points on 4/12 shooting with 6 rebounds and 2 assists.
Dillon Duff – 6’4 SF 2020 – Fort Wayne Snider (IN)
Dillon is a tall wing that has a ton of versatility. He also has some toughness and it showed up well in this game as he continually made plays at the rim, whether on defense or offense. Can cut and slash really well to the rim and his ball handling is good enough to believe that should be a skill moving down the road. Can step out and shoot a bit but still a part of his game that is light right now.He is a great rebounder because of his willingness to attack the rim. Has to improve his handles in the open floor as he got hit with some turnovers. Finished with 15 points on 6/9 shooting with 2 rebounds and 2 assists.
Isaac Farnsworth – 6’2 SG 2020 – Fort Wayne Snider (IN)
Farnsworth is a big shooter with some toughness and ball handling. He was really good in the second half of this game as a guy that can hitting a ton of threes and really helped to pull Snider ahead late in the game. He’s really good off the catch and can dribble to create a bit. Will have to find ways to drive later on. He was good as a rebounder, showing the ability to get inside and control the ball. Has good size and some upside with his offense. Finished with 11 points on 4/7 shooting with 4 rebounds and 3 assists.
Sincere McMahon – 6’0 PG 2020 – Indianapolis Tindley (IN)
This was a solid game by Sincere who really stepped up as a driving force into the middle of the lane. He was great once in the lane finding creative ways to finish using his athleticism. His efficiency isn’t as clean as you would like but he is showing an improvement in his ability to create those opportunities. A little more efficiency could go a long way and really boost his offense. Finished with 12 points on 3/10 shooting with 4 rebounds.
J.K. Thomas – 5’6 PG 2020 – Marion (IN)
While Thomas is a smaller guard, he might just be the biggest competitor in the state. Extremely vocal today and tough as nails. His jumper was a bit off earlier but came through later in the game. Really interesting player because he does lack the size but he elevates really well on his jumper and is explosive enough to sky for rebounds. Extremely quick as well and a body that is filled out. If he can get his jumper to be a consistent weapon, he is really, really good on both of the ends. Finished with 25 points on 7/19 shooting with 2 rebounds.
