Here were the JV standouts from Higley and Highland

(Higley Junior Varsity won 80-73)

[player_tooltip player_id='2640081' first='Tyler' last='Alberta'] Higley

A combo guard is a catch and shoot three point sniper. He will score with threes off the catch or pull-up. He will get some run out layups in transition and collect steals to score. He will also throw assists up the court in stride to teammates. He scored 20 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2640070' first='Chris' last='Harris'] Higley

A pure point guard who can score. He will whip passes to his teammates on a rope with two or one hand perfectly in stride off a live dribble or drive and kick it. He will shoot the three off the catch or dribble. He has a deceptive quick burst with a polished floater game. He scored 19 points with multiple assists.

[player_tooltip player_id='2717324' first='Chops' last='Davis'] Higley (Pictured)

A superb athletic guard is a good passer and rebounder. He scores with step back perimeter jumpers from mid to the three or off the catch. He is graceful on the break and will block shots impressively from the weak side. He scored 12 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2772309' first='Drew' last='Copple'] Highland

A fluid wing forward with some size can face-up to the three plus defend multiple positions. He will hold his ground inside and then defend guards on the perimeter. He will crash the glass and score on put backs or off of alley-oop lobs using his size and athleticism. He is also a good passer. He scored 11 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2432281' first='Preston' last='Friend'] Highland

A combo lead guard has a strap. He has a good feel to throw the dime and makes smart reads. He will score with run out layups, blow by's with his left hand with a super tight handle and a sneaky burst of speed. He makes his money though with his shooting. He truly is one of the better shooters off catch with range. He scored 21 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2772308' first='PJ' last='Wheeler'] Highland

A point forward type sees the court well. He will ball fake into a pull-up or take it to the basket. He will also fall away from his defender from 8-feet. He handles contact well inside the paint and scores it in transition. He has a soft touch from mid-range and will collect steals. He scored 11 points.

Here were the Desert Edge Standouts

[player_tooltip player_id='2466706' first='Mehki' last='Storkel'] Desert Edge

A combo lead guard has a pretty shooting stroke off the catch. He has a lean frame but interestingly enough he rebounds well in his area and is not afraid to fight. He can make passes with his left or right hand and has a nice crossover to create a little offense. He can stop on a dime and pull-up. He understands how to change speeds and gets to the basket to score with either hand.

[player_tooltip player_id='2772557' first='Jude' last='Ramirez'] Desert Edge

A scoring combo guard wants to put points on the board but he is a sneaky good passer, as he will drive and kick it perfectly to a shooting pocket. He will hit the three off the catch and gets hot in a blink of an eye. He is one of their main scoring options nightly. He recently had a huge game of 40 points vs Buckeye.

[player_tooltip player_id='2466071' first='Nick' last='Appenzeller'] Desert Edge

A power forward is one of the better forward passers in the sophomore class. He scores it inside with his back to the basket to score plus face-up from mid to the three point line. He can also rip thru and go to work with some toughness in the paint.

[player_tooltip player_id='2714914' first='Kueth' last='Kueth'] Desert Edge

A long lefty combo wing forward is a downhill attacker. He is a capable perimeter shooter but he prefers to score off of offensive rebound put backs and often gets trips to the free throw line. He takes long strides and seems to grab the out of area 50/50 ball.
