Kimble was a driving force for James Irwin, using his size and length to dominate the game in multiple ways. He runs the floor extremely well for his frame, putting pressure on defenses in transition and finishing strong at the rim. His physical presence makes him a problem on the boards, where he consistently controls the glass and creates second chance opportunities. He scores through contact and plays with toughness, making him hard to contain. His combination of size, effort and production made him a key piece and a constant impact player all season long
Kimble made a major impact last season at James Irwin, averaging 11.1 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. He’s a physical presence on the boards, using strength, smart positioning and solid footwork to control the glass on both ends. Offensively Kimble has a scorer’s touch, able to finish around the rim with soft hands and reliable technique. His combination of strength, fundamentals and scoring ability makes him a matchup problem for opponents. Heading into this season expect Kimble to elevate his game even further, continuing to dominate the paint while providing key scoring and rebounding for his team
Kimble is a name that not many know much about due to playing at a small school that struggled a season ago, but he was very productive and the team’s best player. Despite being the focal point, he still puts up big numbers consistently and does everything that’s asked of him. He has a big frame as a back down forward, he has a face-up game, and also has great footwork to get what he wants. He does his work on the low post, sets hard screens, and finishes and can score in bunches. We want to see him in a setting to showcase his skill. He certainly doesn’t benefit from us not seeing him in the summer and very rarely during the season, so this is a chance to put himself in a position to show that he belongs.
At the 3A level, Kimble is a strong forward who works on the glass, comfortably leveraging his low center of gravity and physical frame to move around opposing defenders. At his best around the basket, he is a dependable option off the roll, capable of securing those opportunities for finishes past contests.
