I'm going to take 2 of the games I attended - Dearborn at Chelsea and Lake Orion at Novi - and give you player evaluations from both of those games.

In an instant classic type of game, Dearborn defeated Chelsea 70-67 in a thrilling 3 OT game. Not to be outdone, Lake Orion and Novi also required an OT to decide the game. Lake Orion outlast Novi in the extra session, winning 51-46.

Mashhour had an eye-popping performance in the triple OT win against Chelsea. He scored in a wide variety of ways, but what probably stood out to me was his ability to use his strong frame and get to the free throw line often. Mashhour was able to attack from all over the perimeter, from catch and shoot triples up top to baseline mid range jumpers over the top of defenders. He also showed that he can distribute as well. Most impressive in that aspect of his game was when he hit the paint, hit 2 feet with a jump stop, and kicked the ball out to an open shooter.

Blanton is one of the most intriguing players this season. He's a super talented player that's committed to Cedarville University. He's also taking on a much bigger load this season. Blanton is a skilled guard that can score in a 1-on-1 matchup. He was at his best in this form when there was an overload on the opposite end and he had room to maneuver. Blanton really stepped his game up late and into the overtime sessions. He hit a huge bank triple that ultimately sent the game to a second overtime. Blanton showed that he could score from all 3 levels with a slick take on the left side of the rim early and a mid range pull up from the wing.

Price-Parks has been a prospect on the rise since the fall. He looked really comfortable working with the ball from the top, where he could utilize matchup advantages and his athleticism. Price-Parks showed a pretty left to right crossover and a straight line drive off of it where he drew a foul at the rim. He looked like he can be very effective as a rim runner and a cutter, converting on a cut-catch-score in the game. Price-Parks finished with 10 points in this game.

Lefevre was impressive in Novi's game against Lake Orion. He's not just a shooting guard. In fact, I thought Lefevre did some of his best work in this game going downhill at the rim. He had a drive and kick for an assist on a triple and later touched the paint off the dribble and kicked out to an open teammate. Lefevre also cut through a lane to the rim, caught the feed and scored on a layup. He had a pretty finger role finish off a righty drive to the rim.

Harajly was a difference maker for Dearborn in their thrilling win. Stats probably don't tell the story in this case. He played a very unselfish, but VERY effective, brand of basketball. Harajly created a couple turnovers with his defense and turned 1 of them into an assist with an on target pass up the floor off of it. He was a talented and efficient passer as well. Harajly's best pass was probably a feed through traffic across the lane for an assist. When Dearborn needed a bucket, he did come through. Harajly hit a couple critical OT free throws and had a fast break layup in the 3rd OT.
