Beyond the Top 5 point guards in the junior class, there are a number of exciting sleepers. What defines a sleeper? It is admittedly a nebulous term. For the purposes of this feature story sleeper will be a player that lacks the regional stardom that their talent and production deserve. Some level of potential greatness can certainly contribute.

12/6/24: Rossview's star guard will continue to be a personal favorite of mine thanks to his elite first-step quickness. Like vertical bounce a player's first step is kind of innate. You can improve slightly, but athleticism tends to be a gift you are born with or not. Jiyair gets going in a hurry. He might be asked to do too much this year if Rossview's other players do not improve rapidly. The team is replacing an exceptional Class of 2024 and early indications are that the new cast needs a lot more development outside of JiYair.

12/6/24: Brentwood's underclassmen have virtually no match statewide. Thankfully, they get to play a lot this year. [player_tooltip player_id='1923548' first='Jackson' last='McCutcheon'] began his young career looking like a great catch-and-shoot guy, possibly peaking as a specialist. That evaluation is now revealed to be short-sighted. Jackson is ripped and ready this year. He was special in a preseason battle at Brentwood High's Play Day. Jackson is not merely an elite shooter. He is an above average defender and just a winner.
