His demeanor, ability to score inside and outside, and poise with the ball in his hands with defenders swarming around him were instrumental in Luther Prep’s win over Columbus. Nottling finished with 11 points and a couple of three-point baskets, but even more impressive was his ability to defend, rebound and provide strong senior leadership to a program that has achieved impressive success over the years.

A bouncy wing prospect who is having a monster season for one of the state’s top WIAA Division 3 teams, Nottling can finish above the rim, from the foul line and from outside the three-point arc. His numbers are extremely impressive — 24.8 ppg, 7.3 rpg and 2.0 spg for a team that has won 15 of 16 games and is battling for the championship in the Midwest Classic Conference. The muscular senior has made 44-of-99 tries from three-point range for 44 percent. He had 30 points in a recent win over Brookfield Academy and looks to take Watertown Luther Prep far once the WIAA playoffs get underway next month.
