Expert Analysis

Coming off a league winning MVP season, Kaleb is off to a hot start for the AAU season. He dropped 31 points while shooting 9-10 from 3 in a recent Puma NXT circuit game. He moves well off-ball, being able to see the defenses weaknesses and then getting to his spots to get an easy shot. He runs the court well, being able to push the ball with the dribble and finish around traffic deep in the paint. He can stretch the floor nicely too, being a player who can play inside or out just as effectievly.

DeHaan averaged 19 points and nine rebounds per game this season on his way to earning MVP of the Kingco Mountain. He’s another shooter with some size who knows how to play off his shot-making to get to good areas and score on his terms. Not the quickest, but has good feet and body control, works quickly off the catch and mixes in fakes, hesitations, recognizes space well, and has the strength and handle to play at his pace. Very well-rounded scorer with touch to score at every level.

Kaleb had a big season for Eastlake, elevating his mid-range game and becoming a more well-rounded scorer from all 3 levels. He claimed the 4A KingCo Mountain League MVP as he improved on both ends. He can work from the wing or the high post, being able to create off the dribble well and find his spots to knock down his jumpers.

Kaleb is a 6’5″ wing who can score from all 3 levels. His mid-range game has improved a tremendous amount over the year, as he has shown he can get his shot off and in a variety of ways. His deep shot is efficient too and is best when getting it off via catch and shoot. DeHaan’s long arms help him cause turnovers and easy buckets for him or his teammates. He was named the 4A KingCo Mountain League MVP.

Kaleb had a huge junior season, claiming the KingCo Mountain 4A MVP. He stepped up his defensive game in a big way, using his length to his advantage to block shots and get steals. DeHaan can play in multiple spots on the offensive end, finding a way to get a ball in the bucket. He stays aggressive on the boards and in the paint, not being afraid to back anyone down. His transition game is excellent, filling lanes and always rim running.

Kaleb has been on a tear this season, being able to be crowned KingCo league MVP. He has stepped up for the team that lost quite a few seniors last season, even though he was a top scorer on the team last year too. His size on the court helps him create mismatches quickly on the offensive end. Defensively, he can guard multiple positions due to his high athleticism and impressive agility. 4 year coaches should start looking his way now.

After scoring in double figures in just four of their first eight games last season, DeHaan ended the year with 10 straight games in double figures, including six with 16+ points. He was their leading scorer last year and the next three top-scorers were all seniors. They had seven total seniors on the squad last year, so even more responsibility will fall on DeHaan to lead the way. He has good size, shows good touch from different areas, and has the strength and poise to finish around bodies in the paint.
