WV 2025 Top 50 Post Players

One could say I have a soft spot for anyone that plays in the paint, in the post or on the front line of any team and that would be true. In a time of positionless basketball, the post players have become few and far between so the ones that are left have chances to make huge impacts. The guys we're listing here are currently ranked in the top 50 and have all worked extremely hard to get to their current ranking. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul class="wp-block-list"><!-- wp:list-item --> <li>[player_tooltip player_id='1801877' first='Cedric' last='Taylor'] is one of the newest additions to the top 100 in West Virginia via enrollment at Huntington Prep. The multi-D1 offered Center is working to spark interest at the Power Five level. Paulin continues to reel in offers almost weekly with some strong interest coming from Randolph University's head coach Evan Kee. Paulin isn't the most polished post player, but he's more than athletic enough to be crazy good down there. Paulin's advantage is he will be a matchup problem once he's developed his perimeter game further. </li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul class="wp-block-list"><!-- wp:list-item --> <li>[player_tooltip player_id='2241522' first='Drew' last='Fitzwater'] is a more traditional post player but who's very comfortable being on the periimiter. Fitzwater does an outstanding job getting position on offense to rebound and put-back. But we could really see him used at the next level for a "screen, flare and shoot" kinda big. He's smooth and decisive with the ball and has confidence in his game. </li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul class="wp-block-list"><!-- wp:list-item --> <li>[player_tooltip player_id='1463045' first='Preston' last='Luzader'] is widely known as the broad shouldered, strong banger in the paint. However, a college coach told me very recently that they really admired his touch from mid-range and the prospect of him being able to drag help defenders outta the paint. Luzder along with Fitzwater are the premier small school bigs in WV currently.</li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul class="wp-block-list"><!-- wp:list-item --> <li>[player_tooltip player_id='2366403' first='Shalik' last='Hampton'] is one player you'll never forget once you see him play. The ultra-athletic big and D1college prospect tight end, brings a balance of strength and skill as well as understanding his role with rebounding and scoring in the paint. Hampton is known as a fierce competitor and technician with the ball down low. Landon did a great job of playing help defense, passing from the high post as well as doing the dirty work inside. A very efficient and effective post player who makes his teammates better when he's on the floor. </li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul class="wp-block-list"><!-- wp:list-item --> <li>[player_tooltip player_id='1578733' first='Bryson' last='Blankenship']returns for what could be a huge year not only for his recruiting but also his school team which returns some great players that compliment him very well. Blankenship has a high ceiling and a chance to be more a stretch four and wing hybrid type player. This year could be his time to shine and be a serious matchup problem every night out. </li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list -->
