Prospect Spotlight: Jaiden Pinckney (2019)
As he heads into his junior season, 5-foot-6 Centennial combo-guard Jaiden Pinckney is hoping to see some results from the hard work he’s been putting in.
A combo-guard, with a team-first mentality, Pinckney recently took some time out to talk with PHID, and mentioned what it is that makes him a player.
“I like to swing the ball and get my shooters open, and I can get to the hoop. I like to try and get the ball down the floor as quickly as possible. And teamwork is key,” said Pinckney.
“I’m working on knowing when to shoot and when to get my shooters open. Also making my passes on target and just the regular things like that.”
Aside from playing with the varsity some this summer, he spent the rest of his time honing his craft at the local YMCA, and lifting some weights.
The junior prospect spent last season playing with the sophomore squad, and after splitting time with the varsity and JV this summer at camps, he’s hoping he’ll wind up with the former during the regular season.
But the goal is to just be a good teammate, whichver team that’s on.
“I’m just excited to play on whichever team I’m on. And I just want to better my team and help get all my guys involved,” said Pinckney.
“My goals this season are to average plenty of assists, enough points to get my team wins, and just have a positive season — no downsides.”
