Nobody does content and event coverage like Prep Hoops. That is never more true than doing our annual series of fall showcase events. This past Sunday, we hosted our annual Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase which is the single best event we put on each year. Over 150 of the states best freshmen descended upon Fishers High School to play in front of our scouting staff as well as many area high school and grassroots coaches. Throughout the week, we will be pumping evaluations on every single kid that attended this event. For this one, we look at the players that made up Team 8.

***As you can imagine, trying to cover 150+ prospects in a single event is a very daunting task. Also, there always end up being a couple of jersey number discrepancies, so if you attended the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase and DID NOT receive an evaluation, please reach out to Brandon Ramsey via email coachbrandonramsey@gmail.com or on Twitter @BRamseyKSR.***

Trinity Lutheran High School featured a couple of star freshmen last season that led them to a Sectional Championship. Both of those prospects attended our Sophomore ID Camp. Wessel, an incoming freshman at the school, was also in attendance for our Freshman Showcase. The 5'8" guard is a good ball handler with enough shiftiness to create separation and make plays for his teammates. There is some ball skill to like as he continues to progress physically.

Another one of the handful of prospects we had down for the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase from Bishop Luers High School. Allen is a skilled guard who had some success playing both on and off of the ball throughout the event. He has the shooting ability to stretch the defense as a spot-up shooter while possessing enough ball skill to be a playmaker when he is handling it.

Yet another prospect from Ben Davis High School, Al-Koba has some intriguing length and fluid athleticism on the perimeter. He was able to play in the passing lanes defensively while also being disruptive on the ball with quick, active hands. Offensively he was at his best in transition handling the ball well in the open floor and making some good decisions while playing up-tempo.

A high IQ guard out of Terre Haute North High School, Woelfle was very comfortable with the ball in his hands and helped run the show for Team 8 at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. The 6'0" guard stood out in 5-on-5 play with his ability to penetrate and consistently get paint touches to draw the eyes of multiple defenders. One highlight included a baseline drive against a closeout that he finished with a pretty dump off pass for a bucket.

Loveless is part of an intriguing up-and-coming group of young prospects at Homestead High School. He showed impressive ball handling ability that he used to get to the rim where he was athletic enough to finish in a variety of ways. The 6'1" guard was at his best attacking closeouts, but also stood out in transition with his ability to run the floor and drive it right off of the throw ahead.

Davison was able to get his feet wet a bit at the varsity level in June for New Palestine High School and looks to be a key piece of the Dragons' future. He has very impressive physical tools for a freshman that he used to play through contact and dominate smaller defenders at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman showcase. However, while his physical tools standout, he also has perimeter skill and can play a guard or wing spot effectively.

This 5'6" guard from Terre Haute North High School certainly was not afraid to compete and go head-to-head against bigger opponents. He was comfortable handling the ball against pressure, did a great job of getting Team 8 into offense, and was a pesky on-ball defender. Throughout the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase Belleu stood out with his competitiveness and toughness as a smaller lead guard.

There were several impressive post prospects at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase with the 6'5" Hurst certainly being one of them. He did a good job of gaining deep post position offensively with some physicality and good footwork, but really stood out on the defensive end of the floor. Hurst came from across the lane for an impressive block during 5-on-5 action and was consistently bothering shots around the rim.
