Freshmen Showcase 5th Team Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Saturday&nbsp;<strong>Prep Hoops Arizona</strong>&nbsp;had the 2nd annual&nbsp;<strong>Freshman Showcase</strong>&nbsp;which was hosted at Inspire Courts in Gilbert, AZ. We had right around 80 incoming freshmen who were competing in a few games of 3 on 3 followed by the regular 5 on 5 setting.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Here were the 5th Team Standouts</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2552794' first='Parker' last='Bowman'] <strong>Prescott </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A scoring point guard can fill it up with pull-ups off the dribble and he is a quick ball handler and comes with a lot of skill. He can play on or off the ball and he has an easy stroke with a quick release from mid to the three. He has quick hands on defense and is a good passer with up the court passes. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2552795' first='Chase' last='Forman'] <strong>Chaparral</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The bigger wing is a very fluid athlete. He handles it well and can take it to the basket. He makes smart reads with the ball and can shoot it comfortably from the mid-range and will hit the three. His IQ, versatility and size will translate. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2552796' first='Trent' last='Geinitz']</strong> <strong>Basha</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A physical power forward is a true rebound chaser in and out of his area. Once he establishes position down low in the paint, he is very crafty and patient to score. The lefty can score around other size and cashes in on the foul line.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2471533' first='Jake' last='Grossman'] <strong>Notre Dame Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A decent sized point guard has a nice handle who is shifty and quick with the ball. He is an advanced passer and directs the team when he is in. He stays in motion when he is off the ball and plays the game from the neck up. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2552784' first='Emir' last='Konicanin']</strong> <strong>Paradise Valley</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A thicker forward who will score in the paint. He has a good post footwork combined with great strength and a nice frame. He can take it coast to coast with a decent handle for position and he is a quick second and third jumper. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2552787' first='Landon' last='Martineau']</strong> <strong>Casteel</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A stronger framed scoring point with a high feel for the game. He has a sneaky burst to get into the paint using his strength to bounce off of his opponents to score getting downhill. He can also shoot the three off the catch or dribble.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2552792' first='Mason' last='Tamlyn']</strong> <strong>Valley Christian</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>An undersized but highly skilled scoring point guard has a quick first step to get to the basket. He has advanced body control and is very quick to get to his spots with his left hand. He has a good feel to make a play and smartly changes speeds to get the defender off balanced. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
