SWBC: Team Utah Standouts 

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>August 19th-20th Cedric Cobb Sr and I had the 7th annual&nbsp;<strong>Southwest Basketball Camp</strong>&nbsp;at the Phhacility in Phx, AZ. 120 players from a few states came to gain exposure in front of college coaches and scouts plus compete versus some top end players over the two days.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Each player competed in 5 games for the two days plus 60 competed in an extra All-Star Game. He has the floater game, step back threes, he uses toughness and a nice handle to get to the rim. He has the mid-range jumper and he is a good passer. He has a tight handle and plays the game at a good pace and you never see him get rushed. He loves getting downhill using his thicker frame and he can hit the catch three off the catch. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2396138' first='Rashad' last='Ortiz'] <strong>Palo Verde</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A long combo guard is athletic, he can defend and score. He puts points on the board and score with mid-range pull-ups. He is a quick second jumper and he can hit the catch three. He can throw it down and he is very young for his class and don't be surprised if he still grows some more. He will rebound in and out of his area, run the floor, he will finish with athleticism plus he can alter or block shots.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Other Standouts</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2533570' first='JoJo' last='Blackburne'] <strong>Palo Verde</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A super athletic undersized point guard is crafty around the basket. He will hesitate to get to the basket and finish around the rim or above it. He handles the ball well and will get on the glass despite his size. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2535873' first='Julian' last='Blackburne'] <strong>Palo Verde</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A very active combo guard who plays hard. He moves the ball and will make the extra pass. He is slithery to the basket with a tighter handle and he can hit the catch three or pull-up from mid-range. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2535877' first='Adrian' last='Powers'] <strong>Palo Verde</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A defensive wing forward is a long defender with quick hands to collect steals. He moves well from end to end and plays the right way and makes winning decisions. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2396141' first='Kamaiu' last='Ortiz'] <strong>Palo Verde</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A wing forward who is skilled and plays with a big IQ for the game. He plays the game like a point forward and sees the court well. He can shoot the three, he a very good passer and he is very efficient around the basket.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
