About Ethan

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I can play 5 positions both ways, but lean towards a 2-4. I've been told I'm a problem both ways by opposing coaches. My goal is to be a well rounded player who can excel, adjust, and overcome all situations. I'll run with a running team or play a half court with a fundamental team. On defense, I'll guard your center or point guard. My goal is to make my teammates better and my team win.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My parents tell me I have a reserved personality. I like encouraging my teammates. My view on winning, is it takes the whole team all game to win. Mistakes in the first quarter are just as costly as in the fourth quarter.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Between school, football, basketball, track and family I have not found time to get involved in any clubs yet. As I am starting highschool this year, I expect that to change.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am learning how to pull the best out of people. Other parents tell my parents that their kids look up to me and call be a good example who is always willing to help them. I've also learned to never give up. To give 100% until the end regardless of the score. I'm here to play and play hard.

What type of college are you looking for?

Things could change, but as a freshman I plan on going into mechanical engineering.

Grind Until has a couple sneaky prospects to track and Weirich caught my eye early in the spring with his ability to play above the rim, block shots and run the court. The wing forward also flashed some ball skills on the perimeter and seemed comfortable as a mid-range shooter. Another prospect who would benefit from hitting the weight room hard before the winter starts, Weirich has some clear upside as his MVP performance at the Hoover MLK classic with 25 points and seven rebounds show. Weirich also made the move from Uniontown Green to Archbishop Hoban, a program that’s been known for competing at the highest levels of OHSAA basketball and has a rich tradition of sending players to the college level in the past decade.
