Legacy Courts: One Day Summer Finale- All Tourney Team

Over the weekend, athletes from neighboring states made a trek to the college town of Lafayette, Indiana. The Summer Finale presented by Legacy Courts would be the venue for showcasing all their basketball skills at the highest level.    This young man was the best player I saw over the weekend!! Great ball handling ability to get around any defender who guarded him. Really good inside scorer who can play in the paint and use a variety of post moves to get easy baskets. He had no problem knocking down shots from both long or mid-range. A great athlete who can run the floor and score when fast breaking opportunities presented itself. Mi'Cah also displayed the knowledge of running an effective pick and roll, which often lead to easy scores. This guy is also a great passer who setup teammates with flashy assists on multiple occasions. On defense Mi'Cah was a terror for opposing players. I counted at least three blocks and two steals in the game I watched. In my opinion, he is already a great all around player at his age. He can definitely succeed at the high school level as long as he continues to work on his game and believe in himself.     Cooper is an excellent shooting guard who plays extremely hard on both ends of the court. He is a very good ball handler who can blow by defenders and attack from all over the court offensively. In the game I saw over the weekend, he could not be guarded!! Dribbling by opponents for scores, shooting mid-range floaters or knocking down multiple three's... It really didn't matter. He also showed the ability of being a good passer by setting up teammates for easy baskets. An excellent defender who plays a stifling type of defense that really put pressure on opposing guards. He forced multiple turnovers by shooting passing lanes and playing good on ball defense. Cooper is an excellent all around player who has the heart, toughness and scoring ability to succeed at the next level. I definitely, plan to keep track of his progression throughout high school!!     This little guy was really, really good over the weekend!! Romel is a great combo guard who has the opportunity of being elite as he grows and ages. Excellent dribbling skills with the basketball in his hands. Great jump shooter and finisher around the rim. I witnessed this young guy shake up multiple defenders and score with either layups or step-back jump shots. He was truly awesome to watch! Has the ability of being a very creative passer and first class ball handler, who often freed himself up for attacks at the basket. On defense I saw him force multiple turnovers with on ball steals. This lead to easy layups in transition for himself or others. Romel is a dynamic guard who can play both positions at a high level. Transitioning to high school basketball shouldn't be hard at all. If this young man was 6'0 and not 5'6.. I have no doubt, he would be an elite guard right now!!     Leon is an excellent shooter who has the capability of making long or mid-range shots. Plays the game of basketball with a certain kind of smoothness. He's the type of player who doesn't force up bad shots and plays the game at his own pace. A really good offensive scorer who showed the ability to create his own shots with side and step back jumpers. Most of the shots this guy took went through the bottom of the net in the games I witnessed. In isolation situations, he was able to break down defenders off the dribble and drive the ball to the basket for easy scores. Leon is a good defender who can stay with opposing players and cause turnovers. He had no issues fighting through screens and disrupting the shots of players on offense. A great rebounding forward who had no issue attacking the paint and grabbing every board he could. Leon is an excellent all round player who plays the game how it's supposed to be played. In my opinion, this young man has a very successful basketball career ahead of him.     Brady is a prototypical point guard who looks to get teammates involved on the offensive side of the ball. He can also score if he needs to be aggressive. Great floor leader who can makes things happen for his squad on both sides of the ball, with either pin-point passes or causing defensive turnovers. He has a nice mid-range game with the capability of knocking down deep threes. (As he showed in the final seconds of a tough loss over the weekend) When necessary, he had no problem using his elite ball handling ability to attack the paint and setup teammates with easy assists or scores for himself. Brady is a steady point guard who plays the game with every intention of leading his squad to victory. He's a coaches dream!! What kind of coach wouldn't like to have a player who has the ability to be a coach on the floor? A type of player that will have his teammates in winning positions on the court. Lastly, a player who can knock down a clutch shot when the time calls for it. These traits describe [player_tooltip player_id='2371868' first='Brady' last='Bishop']!!     Jax displayed the ability to score a variety of ways by staying in constant attack mode offensively. He loved getting into the paint and making things happen, whether it was scoring or assisting. Most of the points he scored were on hustle plays such as put backs and layups. He occasionally stepped outside the painted area and knocked down jump shots. Jax was really good at running the floor and finishing on the break when those situations presented itself. In my opinion, Jax's biggest strength was the sheer hustle he had to be a part of every play on the court. I loved watching this guy play!! He chased down every loose ball, went for every rebound and played hard-nosed defense. He forced a number of turnovers from opposing players. Jax plays the game with a tenacity of never failing and winning at all cost. These are all the intangibles that play an important role in having a great team. With his do it all mentality... progressing to high school basketball will not be an issue.
