Preseason Player of the Year: 2025 [player_tooltip player_id='1381418' first='Jamison' last='Poe'] (Ames)

The Little Cyclones are an overwhelming favorite in the IAN, and Poe is one of the biggest reasons why. A dynamic lead guard who impacts the game in a big way on both ends of the floor, he's lightning-quick with the ball in his hands, a creative playmaker, and a menace on the defensive end.

First Team

2025 [player_tooltip player_id='1381418' first='Jamison' last='Poe'] (Ames): 11.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.5 steals

Poe is small, but his size doesn't limit him on either end of the floor, competing against bigger bodies on the defensive end and on the glass, and he's fearless when he's attacking the rim, embracing contact and finishing through it.

2026 [player_tooltip player_id='2204885' first='Marcele' last='Whitner'] (Mason City): 13.8 points, 4.8 rebounds

Whitner is a really athletic, skilled combo forward who can score inside and out and play with or without the ball in his hands. He has a great second jump that he uses to compete on the glass on both ends, and he also serves as one of the team's primary playmakers.

2025 Cade Westerhoff (Fort Dodge): 14.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.6 steals

The division's leading returning scorer, Westerhoff put together a really productive junior year for the Dodgers, leading the team in scoring and rebounding. A 6-3 wing who can score from all three levels, he looks primed to have a huge senior year for a team that should be improved.

2025 [player_tooltip player_id='2413554' first='Kyle' last='Smith'] (Marshalltown): 13.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.5 steals, 80.8 FT%

Following the transfer of the Bobcats' top returnee before last season, there were some questions about who would step up and become the team's go-to option. Smith was excellent in that role, leading the team in scoring and rebounding from his wing spot. The 6-3 wing also knocked down a team-high 77 3-pointers.

2025 [player_tooltip player_id='1381424' first='Abe' last='Vos'] (Ames): 8.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.2 steals, 37.5 3P%

Vos got off to a bit of a slow start as he got acclimated with his new team last season, but he came on strong down the stretch and will pair with Poe to give Ames the best backcourt in the conference. He's a knockdown shooter off the catch who moves really well without the ball in his hands, and he has improved as a ball-handler and playmaker.
