Closing in on 1,000 career points, Hoeser is a matchup problem for opponents because he has the size and strength to muscle his way to baskets in the paint while also possessing the skill and confidence to go away from the basket and make perimeter shots. He has not played club basketball so his exposure is a bit limited, but college coaches who make the trek to Neillsville this winter to watch Hoeser compete will not be disappointed as he can play. Hoeser averaged 17.6 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.8 blocked shots as a junior for the Warriors.
Hoeser made his presence felt in the paint all year, anchoring Neillsville’s interior with shot-blocking, rebounding, and high-efficiency scoring. The 6’6″ junior averaged 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 blocks per game. He recorded eight double-doubles on the season, including a 24-point, 14-rebound effort in a win over Owen-Withee. Hoeser’s physical growth and confidence showed as he built on a solid sophomore campaign. His size and activity made him a tough matchup for any opponent, earning him First Team recognition.
One of the elite players in the Cloverbelt East Conference, Hoeser is a player with size who can score facing up to the basket or with his back to the hoop in the post. He possesses good physical strength and a solid understanding of the game and how he can positively impact the outcome for his squad. Hoeser played alongside four seniors a year ago so his numbers of 12.6 ppg and 5.6 rpg aren’t all that eye popping. But he will be the go-to player for coach Mike Gaier and the Warriors in 2024-25 so those averages figure to soar.
Perhaps the top player in the Cloverbelt East Conference, Hoeser is poised for a breakout junior season for the Warriors. He received honorable mention all-league laurels as a sophomore as the lone underclassmen in the starting rotation for coach Mike Gaier. He averaged 12.6 points and 5.6 rebounds and those numbers figure to soar in 2024-25 as Hoeser becomes the go-to offensive performer for Neillsville. Hoeser can score from outside the arc, around the basket and from the foul line. He is a fluid athlete who competes with a high skill level and the size and length to make things tough on opponents on both ends of the floor.
