About Ty

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Big man but way above average shooting mid-range or 3 point shots than others my size. I shoot the ball better than a lot of guards. Smart player who can read the defense and run the plays as planned. Very good free throw shooter and generally get to the line a lot.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Sometimes appear soft spoken but deep down I do not like to lose at any game at all. I will work until I achieve my goals. I have a good sense of humor and like to laugh.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Honor Roll Latin Club Young Life Proteens

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

This Summer playing travel ball and really learned the meaning of team play and teamwork. My travel coach has helped me a lot this Summer.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

It was tough accepting not playing a lot in the past when I felt like I should. The right system is crucial to really show what you can do. I kept at it and just kept improving.

What type of college are you looking for?

Division 2,3 or Juco is what I am looking for. I would prefer to stay within a 4 hour range from my hometown but open if I really like the school. I just want to further my academics and play the game I love. A school that has that family feel.

Ty Kellam Ty Kellam Ty Kellam 6'6" | SF Parkside | 2025 State MD is more of a big right now, but I think transitioning to more of a wing at 6’6 would make him a tier better. On offense, Ty will have no problem playing as a wing. He is a consistent three-point shooter and isn’t uncomfortable making decisions when he has the ball. Ty can use the ability he has out the post and in the mid-range on players smaller than him or his size. Ty will need to get a little quicker laterally against wings at the next level, but that ability to shoot at his size will serve him well.
