About Cory

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am an all around player. I can play defense, handle the ball, shoot the mid range and the 3 ball, get to the rack, finish through contact, and play help-side defense.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is to win in everything I do. It doesn’t matter if I’m in the classroom or on the court I want to be the best version of myself possible.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have received non sports awards. I have received the district academic award for having a 4.0 GPA throughout the season. I have had a 4.0 GPA ever since the 3rd grade. I am involved with the language immersion program at my school. I have been speaking Chinese for 8 years and will continue to for as long as I can. I have also been in talks with some companies in potential brand deals.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Over the past year I have developed lots of leadership. I have became a better leader on and off the court. My talking on both sides of the ball has gotten better and every time my teammates make a mistake instead of yelling at them, I just say next play or it’s fine get it back the next possession.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes I have. The biggest challenge I faced was making Team United. When I came in I was a nobody only known around in Columbia. Despite that I was still a pretty good player and I could tell no one really thought I was. Until we scrimmaged and I showed what I could really do. I did so good that my coach asked me to come back, and then here I am now.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college with above average academic scores and provides classes for different languages.
