Soren Lolonga
About Soren
Expert Analysis
Robbie Hodin | Prep Hoops Scout
Lolonga is ridiculously intriguing. Though he didn’t score the ball super well in Team New England’s matchup against Expressions, he showcased the ability to impact the game in a number of ways. Defensively, he’s super versatile and is great at the point of attack; he has awesome length, athleticism, and quick hands. He can also step out and knock down outside shots occasionally and does a good job rebounding the ball on the offensive end. Lolonga is certainly a bit raw, but he fills a nice role and will still be impactful even without a super advanced skillset.

Soren was a threat to play above the rim and is at his best in the open floor. He has a nice blend of size and length that can impact the game on either end. He broke the game down nicely in the half-court and was able to muscle down opposing defenders when he got inside the paint. Lolonga is a bit of a tweener which makes him a mismatch problem for other teams to game plan for. He found ways to contest shots and came up with a few blocks.

A 6’3″ combo guard for Mount Saint Charles, Lolonga made his mark with his versatile offensive game, commitment to the defensive end, and ability to motivate his teammates. Leadership skills don’t go unnoticed by college coaches, and his are impressive. He’s vocal defensively, the first to pick a guy up when he falls, and uses his voice from the bench to motivate his teammates. Beyond that, he has a nice presence with the ball in his hands, playing at different speeds to get to his spots, and finding teammates in spots where they can score. He uses his frame to his advantage as a scorer in the paint, knocks down shots from behind the arc in catch and shoot situations, and has the ability to operate as a decision maker out of ball screens. He’s a scholarship prospect that should start to get attention from low majors, while knowing there’s still two years more to his development before he enters college.
