A June Sunday always ushers in the @PrepHoopsTN Combine. This year we tipped June 16th with an insanely talented coaching staff. The gym hosted high energy. Read about several of the campers with their evaluations from the day. All measurements/times are listed in the linked article.

Jax was an unassuming dude who does not terrify opponents when he walks into the gym, but he can really play. Jax is built like Roger Federer with slender and trim upper body and enormous thighs which enable him to play faster than most. Jax is a little small of frame, smaller hands than average. His speed is the greatest asset. Howard will graduate as a multi-year varsity starter for a perennial deep-playoff team. Coaches routinely trust him and Sunday he showed why. Great speed with the ball. Never turns the ball over. Quick feet and basketball mind. Can hit open 3's and yet he does not need to take shots to feel good about himself. Howard makes multiple people better. Jax Howard Jax Howard Jax Howard 6'0" | PG Webb-Bell Buckle | 2025 State TN recorded the fastest Lane Agility time all morning with 10.13 seconds. His time is Top 5 All-Time for @PrepHoopsTN Combine events. His second time was 10.72 seconds, also excellent.

Quick hands and feet. Very quick feet. Elite Lane Agility times (11.56, 11.51). William is adept at slashing. He still has not proven to be a consistent outside shooter. Might be a point guard. Defensively, he plays with very quick feet and active hands. The physical tools suggest he should be leading his team in steals.  In the next months and years he should hit the weight room.  He will always be quicker than most.  Ideally, he will be stronger through the shoulders and the chest too.

Check his times in the sprint and agility drills.

Good dribbler. Shot is decent on the catch-and-shoot, but his pull-up game can improve with work.  Limited in scoring off the bounce.  He will probably struggle to score in the lane against the trees, but he should still attack and then find options.  Jimenez Jr. is a worker.  Possibly because he was among the younger guys he was pretty quiet.  As a point guard he must be more vocal.  It is imperative.

Figures out ways to score. Plays taller than his height.  He is used to playing on teams that need a lot from him, so he adapted to the role of volume scorer over time. Very creative in traffic. Can score in a variety of ways.  Good touch around the rim. Speed is ok, but better straight-line speed will serve him well. Perimeter defense will probably be his limiting factor. He understands spacing and separation. Can create his shooting window in the lane.  Whitt was a Jv Camp All-Star in February of 2023.  This was a step up in competition and his skills fit in fine, but his speed was not enough to break away from the pack.  That is going to be his next hurdle to overtake.

Benjamin Craig | PG | Chattanooga Prep | 2027

How did he measure against the competition?

  • Class of 2027
  • 5'8" PG
  • Hand span -- 8'0"
  • Hand height -- 8.0"
  • Camp Ranking -- #51

Quick. Bouncy. Benjamin can play fast decently but he must tighten up his handle some. More than a few times he found himself in tight situations and failed to escape with the pill. As an undersized guard there is nothing more necessary than the ability to dribble both fast and slow at an elite level. Elite speed in the 3/4-court sprint (3.39, 3.48). Projects as fringe starter for a power program Chattanooga Prep in two years.

Check his speed and measurements below.

  • @PrepHoopsTN Combine All-Star

Gym rat. Elite quickness. Explosion vertically is slightly better than before.  Always a great slasher. Better finishing with his right hand (weak hand). Insanely long wingspan (6'6.75").  For a goof, I ran the 3/4-court sprint against Rodney. Rather, I started the race against Rodney and then watched him run. Rodney was insanely quick off of the line and wonderfully fast through the finish. Rodney is coming off an All-State season.  He should push for Mr. Basketball this upcoming senior year.

Check his speed and measurements below.
