Not the most conventional looking game on the court but you cannot deny the production McGraw has whether he’s playing with Kettering Fairmont or 937 Hoop Dreams. The leading scorer and rebounder in the GWOC has an extremely high feel for the game and is incredibly active. McGraw’s efficiency is also remarkable for a player of his size and shot volume. I’ll be curious to see in what statistical areas McGraw can improve on from junior to senior season for Kettering Fairmont. McGraw should be a priority target for regional small college programs.

The leading scorer and rebounder in the GWOC, McGraw has had a breakout junior season and is establishing himself as one of the best high school players in the greater Dayton area. McGraw is physical on the interior and has soft hands to catch contested passes to him in the paint. McGraw is incredibly efficient in the paint due to his impressive touch at the rim and high basketball IQ. His production suggests he will be a coveted small college forward recruit starting this summer when schools of that level prioritize 2027 prospects.

Kettering Fairmont pushed the host Mason Comets to overtime before falling short. McGraw had an excellent game going 7/10 from the floor finishing with 14 points and 15 rebounds. The Comets had a tough time handling McGraw in the paint as he drew fouls at the rim and grabbed a pair of offensive rebounds. In overtime, McGraw had a couple key buckets off a BLOB play and a seal and score. Hoping to see McGraw improve from the foul line throughout the course of the season.

One of the more productive forwards on the Prep Hoops Circuit this summer in the midwest, McGraw impressed for 937 Hoop Dreams. A skilled forward who can score on the short roll, in the post or pop out on the perimeter, McGraw can beat you in a variety of ways. Impressed most by his hands and passing ability, those two skills are crucial for a player with McGraw’s physical measurements. After scoring over 9 points a game as a Sophomore, expectations are even higher for McGraw as he is Kettering Fairmont’s leading returning scorer.

I like the size and matched skillset of McGraw. He is a bully on the perimeter. He was not being stopped from getting to his spot on the floor. He was good in the paint and finishing around the rim. He played with good effort and a competitive edge. He was a physical and strong player. I like the foundation he has.

McGraw has had some breakout performances this spring on the Prep Hoops circuit and while I’m excited to see him this weekend I am most excited to see who else performs from 937 Hoop Dreams 16 U.

Jayden was a key player in a high powered 937 Hoop Dreams offense. At 6’3 he has a blend of strength and footwork to go to work out of the block. If you didn’t double him, he was going to back his way into deep post position and finish over the top of his defender. Did a great job of running the floor for transition buckets, showed the hands to catch dump-off passes in traffic, and sent a couple of shots flying back to sender on the defensive end. May not have eye catching size at 6’3, but he’s a walking double-double who plays bigger than his listed height.

One of the more physically dominant forwards at the tournament, McGraw has put on a considerable amount of weight and muscle since the first time I saw him during the opening game of his sophomore season for Kettering Fairmont. McGraw had a big second half for 937 Hoop Dreams in the game I caught, making a handful of shots around the paint, grabbing offensive rebounds and kicking it out to shooters. Despite losing the game I was at on Saturday, 937 Hoop Dreams responded with two 20+ point wins to end the tournament.

Kettering Fairmont will always take care of the basketball and make you work to score against them. While they are lacking in size, it allowed a player like McGraw to run block to block and catch and finish in the paint. A guy who plays bigger than his height, McGraw had some strong finishes in the paint and has a long wingspan as well. Defensively that wingspan came in handy when McGraw blocked a jump shot. A college prospect to watch if McGraw grows or develops some more perimeter ability, he’s already a valuable high school piece.
