Carter brought relentless energy on defense, consistently locking down opponents’ top scorers and disrupting their rhythm. He battled fearlessly on the boards, going toe-to-toe with bigger players and making his presence felt in every possession. He also knocked down key three-pointers that helped swing momentum at critical moments.

Loyd was playing with a ton of confidence on Friday evening and played a key part in a blowout victory for his team. Making shots off the catch, Loyd’s teammates did a nice job of finding him open on the wing and letting him knock down shots. My favorite play of Loyd came in transition when he fed his teammate with a sweet behind the back pass for an easy layup. Nice to see steady improvement from 937 Hoop Dreams from the first time I watched them in April for multiple players, including Loyd.
