About Brayden

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Brayden Petrie | Class of 2027 | 6’5” Small Forward | Rockford Lutheran (IL) Brayden Petrie is a versatile 6’5” small forward with a high basketball IQ and a relentless motor. As a sophomore, he averaged 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists per game while competing on multiple AAU circuits this past summer. Known for his unselfish play and passion for the game, Brayden set a program record at Rock

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am very easy going. I like to build relationships with teammates. Ultimately, I am a hard worker so I am the only one in the gyms at 6am before school starts. I shoot 250-500 shots a day, hit the gym daily and make sure I am constantly watching film with my Dad, and by myself. I love the game of basketball and I hope my style of play portrays that. I am willing to do what my team needs to win.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am heavily involved in community service with the Fatherhood Encouragement Project. I have received many awards for community service and education.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I believe that the most important skill that I have developed over time is my desire to be around the game of basketball whether that be in the gym, in the classroom watching film, or serving my community to become a better human being. I am a better leader because of my work ethic. I want to be great, I want to win with my teammates and share their successes and celebrate together.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I grew 4 inches in about 6 months so my legs hurt a ton, constant issues with growing pains and being uncomfortable. I also then have had over 50 charges in two seasons so I have had many Chiro appointments to keep my body healthy. I continue to overcome them.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that has high expectations, will push me to be a better player and person. I am looking for a school that has a business program that I can pursue and help me develop into a program changing force. I would like a school to have a program that supports other programs at the school and is unified in their athletic departments.
