Many of the Carolinas’ top independent programs were in attendance making for a fun day of action. These five prospects are Wings who stood out by doing anything from shooting to lock-down defense. Check them out below:

had one of the most impressive individual performances of the Phenom Queen City Showcase. In the first game of the season with
Next Level Elite
Poole, Owen came out on a mission dropping 16 points in the first 6 minutes against NC Bulldogz. Owen was getting the rack at will, both in transition and in the half-court, finishing over defenders and through contact. He also showed an ability to knock down a perimeter shot effectively, hitting 3 en route to a 32-Point night. Stewart received an offer from Erskine College on Monday.
Highlights
Thompkins had a very strong performance on Saturday for Next Level Elite ‘s 17U Group. He started hot from behind the arc, knocking down back-to-back threes followed by drawing a foul on his next attempt, converting on all three free throws. Following a defensive adjustment, his opponents began to run him off the three-point line which did not faze him much. He began to make plays that way as well, finishing at the rack or dumping it off to bigs under the basket. Thompkins finished with 20 points on 3-6 3FG in a comfortable win.

Jackson is a tantalizing prospect due to his physicals. Although he is on the leaner side, he is a 6’3″ wing with very long arms and more room to grow. NLE used this attribute very effectively on Saturday as the focal point of a full-court press. This caused lots of problems for opposing ball-handlers, turning into easy buckets in transition. Kendrick also had a couple of flashes on the offensive end, grabbing a couple of rebounds and using his length to finish at the rim.

Galeota didn’t quite have his shots fall, but he did still have a positive impact on a tough matchup with Tennessee Impact. He fits in great with Team Hustle because he is a true hustle player. Owen is often the first on the floor for loose balls and is a great rebounder. He is versatile on the wings and even played some small ball five, stretching the floor with a couple of made threes and an impressive and-one off the dribble.

Diondre Jamerson Diondre Jamerson SC
Saturday was my first time seeing Diondre in person and he left a great first impression. The Sophomore is an electric scoring wing who had 19 points against Hjemly Basket of Denmark. He has great off-ball movement and can score in multiple ways for Pasadena Stars. Of his 19 points, he hit 3 threes forcing defenses to stay honest when the ball wasn’t in his hands. He is a name to monitor for the rest of the AAU Season and I look forward to watching his squad again soon.
