Downing played a lot as a sophomore, but he took a big step to become the Vikings’ x-factor and play-finisher as a junior. Averaging 2 three-pointers per game, he kept defenses honest by lighting them up from deep. Whether he was one pass away or relocating into an open window on the weak side, Downing was always shot-ready. Further, he made splash plays in transition too, either by getting a steal or an outlet pass and detonating at the rim. He also flashed that same explosiveness as a slasher in the halfcourt.
