As of time of writing, the following schools had not put their box scores into Bound and none of their players will be included in this article: Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, Des Moines Christian, Pleasantville, Emmestburg, Western Christian, Beckman Catholic, West Burlington, and Spirit Lake.
2024 PF John Braun John Braun 6'2" | PF Van Meter | 2024 State IA (Van Meter)
A tough, physical forward with soft hands and good touch around the rim, Braun and the next player on this list kept Van Meter alive for most of the night against Treynor, scoring 23 points on 8-18 shooting (2-3 3P, 5-7 FT) with 6 rebounds.
2024 SF Cael Trudo Cael Trudo 6'5" | SF Van Meter | 2024 State IA (Van Meter)
A powerful, physical wing who is really tough to slow down when he gets going downhill, Trudo was really good in the loss to Treynor, scoring 18 points on 7-14 shooting (3-5 3P, 1-2 FT) to go with 10 rebounds.
2025 SF Brayden Wallis Brayden Wallis 6'4" | SG Grundy Center | 2025 State IA (Grundy Center)
Wallis, a 6-4 wing, had a very efficient night in the Spartans’ win over Aplington-Parkersburg, scoring 19 points on 7-10 shooting (3-5 3P, 2-2 FT) to go with 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and a block. He has good size on the wing and uses it effectively on the defensive end, getting into passing lanes and contesting shots.
2024 C Jack Vanfossan Jack Vanfossan 6'3" | PF Underwood | 2024 State IA (Underwood)
The 6-4 big man nearly notched a triple-double in the Eagles’ win over East Sac County, scoring 8 points with 10 rebounds and 9 assists. He has good hands and is a skilled passer out of his post position, allowing the Underwood offense to give opponents different looks, with arguably their best playmaker playing out of the painted area.
2025 PF Cael Reichter Cael Reichter 6'7" | PF North Fayette Valley | 2025 State IA (North Fayette Valley)
Speaking of triple-doubles, Reichter did just that in the TigerHawks win over MFL MarMac, scoring 23 points (9-16 FG, 1-2 3P, 4-6 FT) while grabbing 23 (!) rebounds and blocking 10 shots. An athletic 6-6/6-7 combo forward who has been fantastic this season, he saved his best for their biggest game of the season, to date. What does he have in the tank for an encore against Hudson?
2025 PF/C Emiliano Barrantes Emiliano Barrantes 6'9" | PF Grand View Christian | 2025 State IA (Grand View Christian)
Barrantes dominated a smaller Des Moines Christian team on the glass, pulling down 21 rebounds to go with his incredibly efficient 30 points. A bouncy 6-8 forward with long arms and a nose for the ball, he is having a truly remarkable season.
2026 SF Brayden Hoben Brayden Hoben 6'5" | PF Grand View Christian | 2026 State IA (Grand View Christian)
Another Thunder player who helped them dominate the glass, Hoben pulled down 11 rebounds of his own against the Lions while also scoring 16 points on 5-12 shooting (4-7 3P). He’s armed with a quick release and really good off-ball movement, getting to his shot quickly.
2025 SF Jalen Kirkpatrick Jalen Kirkpatrick 6'6" | SF Grundy Center | 2025 State IA (Grundy Center)
A really skilled 6-5/6-6 wing with the length and shooting stroke to be a legitimate college prospect, Kirkpatrick had a really nice game against Aplington-Parkersburg, scoring a team-high 24 points on 9-14 shooting (5-8 3P) along with 7 rebounds. His length is a major asset on the defensive end, and his size allows him to shoot over defenders offensively.
2024 PF Reece Vander Zee Reece Vander Zee 6'5" | SF Central Lyon | 2024 State IA (Central Lyon)
The future Iowa receiver had another huge scoring night in his final high school game, putting up 27 points on 12-22 shooting, along with 9 rebounds, in the Lions loss to Western Christian. They were overmatched against the Wolfpack, but Vander Zee did whatever he could to keep them in the game.
2025 PF Matthew Neighbor Matthew Neighbor 6'3" | PF Alburnett | 2025 State IA (Alburnett)
Alburnett’s season came to an end at the hands of Regina, but the 6-3 Neighbor, who has been among the most pleasant surprises of the year in 2A, was really good, scoring 19 points on 7-12 shooting along with grabbing 13 rebounds.
2024 F Camden Davis Camden Davis 6'5" | SF Hudson | 2024 State IA (Hudson)
Three Hudson guards were already written about as standouts, and Davis, the headliner of the team, joined them with another efficient showing against Jesup. The active 6-4/6-5 forward with great hands, soft touch, and non-stop movement had 16 points on 7-13 shooting to go with 9 rebounds.
2024 PF Keegan Soard (South Central Calhoun)
The size and strength of South Central Calhoun was nearly the difference-maker in their upset bid of Kuemper Catholic, and the 6-4 Soard was a huge part of that. He had 10 points on a perfect 5-5 shooting along with 15 rebounds.
