The 3rd-Place Team in Class AAA Region 3, Broome, travelled to Seneca, South Carolina to take on the 2nd-Place Bobcats of Class AAA Region 1. Seneca got out to a quick start as 8th Grade Point Guard [player_tooltip player_id='2339844' first='Jeremiah' last='Hunter'] assisted the first 3 made field goals, [player_tooltip player_id='1268064' first='Cameron' last='O'Kelley'] scored 8 points, and Stu Finley hit two threes, sending them up 16-5 with less than four minutes played. However, they were much sloppier scoring just 16 points over the remaining 12 minutes of the half. During that time, Broome did a great job of being active in the paint and getting to the free throw line, particularly from Kamajay Brackett-Brannon and Ja'Coreyun Broadus. Finley hit two more threes early in the third quarter, but Brackett-Brannon matched every Bobcat to keep the Centurions close heading to the fourth. However, Seneca held Broome to just one made field goal in the first 5 1/2 minutes of the final period and got very bright minutes from their Hunter as well as [player_tooltip player_id='2306321' first='Chaz' last='Moss'], who made an impact around both rims and even stretched out with a made three as Seneca sealed their First Round win.
