Prep Hoops Missouri Top 250 Expo: Class of 2019 Forwards
Here is a look at the top Class of 2019 forwards from last weekend’s Prep Hoops Missouri Top 250 Expo in St. Louis:
Jason Montogermy 6’4″ Marquette: The versatile combo forward was one of the top performers at the camp. He is developing into quite a matchup problem. He displayed the ability to score around the basket and dominate on the offensive boards. His perimeter game is also starting to come around as he is making plays off the dribble. I’ve always enjoyed his fundamentally sound game.
Khalifa Muhammad 6’5″ Althoff (IL): A very smooth combo forward who is very comfortable on the wing as a shooter and ball handler. He knocked down several perimeter jumpers from the mid-range and long distance. He also has excellent athleticism and get up and go in the transition game.
Malachy Simpson 6’7″ Webster Groves: A very capable Stretch 4 who displayed the ability to knock down 3-pointers throughout the day. He was very good off the catch. He was very active and played with a little more aggressiveness around the basket. Very skilled player with good size.
Trent McBride 6’6″ Eminence: A hard-working southpaw who got a lot done in the low post with sheer effort. He has nice moves around the basket and can step out and knock down 12 to 15 footers. What I liked about him was how he stayed with the play, even when he missed, he kept getting his own rebound and finishing.
Ari Jackson 6’4″ CBC: A very solid combo forward who does a nice job of fitting his skills in a team setting. He has a big body, but he can handle the ball on the perimeter and knock down open jumpers. He can also rebound and pass the ball and play without making a lot of mistakes.
Will Barney 6’8″ Metro East Lutheran (IL): One of the tallest players at the camp, Barney is a skilled big with a nice shooting touch from the perimeter. He is thin, but he has good mobility and activity on the boards. He will be more effective as he continues to get stronger.
Jake Luthy 6’4″ Vianney: A versatile combo forward who has a nice set of fundamentals. He has a strong body who can cause matchup problems on the perimeter with his ability to handle the ball and facilitate. He also has solid range on his jumper.
