The recruitment cycle never stops these days, even when kids are playing in their high school seasons. I caught up with Chris Eagan Chris Eagan 6'8" | PF Charlotte Catholic | 2025 State NC , one of the best big men in the 2025 class in North Carolina, and was able to discuss the status of his recruitment. Eagan is a mobile 6’8 forward who’s got great touch around the block and can even step out to the mid-post or perimeter area to knock down shots. He’s a lefty who likes to go over his right shoulder and get to a hook or a face-up jumper from that area. Also an impressive rebounder due to his size and ability to grab rebounds over people, and continuing to come along as a shot blocker. He projects to be a 4 at the next level, one who’s mobile, can screen, post, and score from a variety of spots on the floor.
Eagan has three offers currently; Presbyterian, Manhattan, and recently picked another offer up from Emory and Henry. Manhattan was his first official offer, and he’s already taken an unofficial visit to the program. It also holds a special place in his heart because of his familial connection to the area, as his mom is from the area. “What’s not to like about going to college in New York City”, he told me. Presbyterian stands out to him because of the good atmosphere and the great relationship he says he has with the coaching staff. He’s a big fan of everyone, from Coach Farrell to DOBO Rob Lane. Emory and Henry is similar for him, as he says he has a great relationship with the HC and appreciates the opportunity to potentially play in Virginia.
A long list of schools are also in contact or have interest with Eagan, including Marshall and Navy. A full list is provided below.
- Navy
- Marshall
- Appalachian State
- UNC Pembroke
- Texas A&M
- Coastal Carolina
- Furman
- Air Force
- Colgate
Eagan told me he plans to take an unofficial visit to Annapolis on the 27th to catch the Navy vs. Loyola (MD) game, and said it would be a great honor to represent his country and play basketball. Marshall also stood out because of their play style and how they get their 4s and 5s involved and have them look to shoot and score. With the amount of current options he has, and his ability to continue to elevate his play for Charlotte Catholic now and Team Curry this summer, and Eagan should continue to be a name to discuss and monitor in this class.
Chris will continue to attack the high school season hard, and you can catch him, Liam Gates Liam Gates 6'0" | SG Charlotte Catholic | 2024 State NC , Eddie David Eddie David 6'2" | CG Charlotte Catholic | 2025 State NC , and the rest of the Charlotte Catholic squad next Tuesday as they take on East Mecklenburg in an important 4A Southwestern clash.
