continues to grow in the 2025 rankings at the combo guard position. He’s a prospect for DII/DIII/JUCO programs to get eyes on over the next few months. He’s had himself a breakout season as a starter with 15.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 1.8 assists per game in their 9-3 start to 2024-25. He’s an athletic presence who can also showcase his ability to shoot the ball from deep, especially with corner 3’s, to make an impact on the game. Defensively, he’s shown he can play in passing lanes and create opportunities on the fast break to showcase his athleticism.

Newsome is the first name with Wilson Prep Academy to get to know in the 2025 class. The 6-foot-3 guard is putting up 16.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.1 blocks per game as a two-way presence for the Tigers. He’s an athletic prospect who can also get hot in a hurry shooting the ball from deep to keep eyes on. He’s shooting 53 percent from the field and 33 percent from behind the arc as they’re out to a 6-2 start. DII/DIII/JUCO programs would be wise to get him on their radar.

His team dominated their matchup on Friday, and he was one of the main reasons why, scoring a game high of 26 Points. He was efficient shooting the ball but didn’t force plays and did a very nice job of defending without fouling.

Newsome is due for a big jump at Wilson Prep in 2024-25 as he looks to take over a starting role. He’s an underrated athletic presence who’s also shown he can shoot the ball with efficiency on the perimeter when given opportunities. He’s a sizeable guard at 6-foot-3 for DII and DIII programs in the region to get on their radar given his activity level on the court.
