Another experienced backcourt prospect, Bailey has been a fixture in the St. Andrew’s lineup for years while steadily growing into a go-to contributor. Bailey plays both on and off the ball, using his quickness and a slick handle to get north-south for crafty floaters as well as spotting up beyond the arc with a polished quick-release shooting stroke. He’s more of an undersized ‘2’ or combo than a true lead guard but has grown over the past year and change in his feel for the game and ability to run a team. Bailey’s toughness and prolific scoring ability provide the recipe for a scholarship-level guard who could thrive in a multi-pronged backcourt attack.

Karon is a smart and crafty playmaker who mixes scoring and distributing nicely. He can break you down off the bounce using quick crossovers and showcases very good quickness. Dangerous off the bounce as a slasher type with a fantastic touch around the rim finishing with either hand. He also hit shots off the dribble

Karon is an improving scorer all-around for St. Andrews. The team will look to him to make and attempt a lot more shots to be successful. I expect Karon to step up to the plate and utilize his increased role. He can get hot from beyond the arc in a hurry, but I like the way he reads the defense off the dribble. You can see Karon is confident in his jumpshot from anywhere on the floor. I’d like to see him use his dribble a bit more to get under the rim and draw foul shots. Potential breakout year coming for the trusted guard.

25p 2r (9/13 FG, 6/8 3P) vs John Carroll

-Bailey turned heads with another explosive scoring outburst as a guard that understands the value of combining perimeter shot-making and easy looks at the rim with multiple layups or runners. Unfortunately had a potential game-winning layup attempt called off in a spot of bad officiating but he scored the final 7 points for St. Andrew’s down the stretch to bring them all the way back– the most impressive being a sidestep rainbow three that hit nothing but net. The senior guard is elite at creating space on the perimeter and can really shoot it with great range from all 3 levels of the floor. Love his touch around the basket, his scoring bag, and his understanding of when to stop n pop and when to accelerate to finish just past the outstretched arms of a defender. One of the most productive guards in the area.

-Bailey proved over the course of the year that he is really, really difficult to keep under wraps for a full game as he led a good STA squad in scoring. Bailey can get his own bucket off the bounce from all three levels and does a great job of anticipating contact to draw fouls all over the floor. Love the consistency and touch on his floater in the key both off of one foot and two feet.

19p 4a 1s 1 charge drawn vs Episcopal

-Bailey can really fill it up from the perimeter and continues to impress as a tough shot taker and a tough shot maker OTB. The handle has sharpened to get into pull-ups from beyond the 3 point line, with the added aspect of the game making it more difficult to cut off his driving lines to the paint. Bailey hit a C+S wing and corner 3, stepback 3, scored off the bump and floater through the contact in the key, and got the step coming off a wing ball screen to get into a clean pull-up two in front of the rim. As Bailey continues to mature as a combo guard that locates his shooters and drives to create easy kickout looks to them from beyond the arc, his 1 on 1 scoring skills will only be accentuated by improved spacing.

-Bailey steps into a bigger role with the Lions this season as the primary creator (and probably scorer) of a young but deep STA team. Bailey can mix defenders to get to his spots off the bounce or sit behind a screen to drill 3s. Already a solid midrange shooter, I would like to see him add in a consistent elbow pull-up to take advantage of the momentum-shifting that his defender undergo on his drives to the rim. He’s beginning to see more of the complex passing reads on side ball screens and when he gets 2 feet in the paint. How efficient he is and how well he takes care of the rock will be key to their success offensively throughout the year.

Another small St. Andrews guard who shot the ball well against Miller was Karon Bailey Karon Bailey Karon Bailey 6'1" | CG St. Andrew's Episcopal School | 2026 State MD . Karon had a rough game against Episcopal earlier. He struggled shooting the ball but was still able to put in a crucial free throw at the end of the game. He again hit a big free throw against Miller, but this time, he shot the ball well overall. He hit all three of his three-point attempts and finished with 18 points and 4 assists.

The shifty guard is a true PG as some would say. Karon really knows how to run a team and you can see it with his play on the court. He makes other players better with sharp passes in catch and shoot positions. He does a good job off the pick and roll making great decisions to the big or the opposite wing. He will surely keep defenders honest going under the screen with his shot as well. Look for his stock to keep rising.

rnA combo guard with the perimeter wiggle to break down his matchup off the bounce, Bailey is finding his way as a lead guard that can score and facilitate. Bailey is knocking down enough perimeter jumpers to keep the defense honest but continues to value the paint touches that shift defenses and force communication from the defense. His growth defensively as a POA defender is noticeable, cutting off driving lanes to force dribble pick-ups and in some cases-turnovers. Definitely a name to track in the 26 class as he steps into a bigger role at St. Andrew’s as a rising junior.
