We recently released updated rankings in the classes of 2024, 2025, and 2026. But what would the rankings look like if we took all of those classes and threw them together? This is our Iowa Top 50 Prospects, Regardless of Class. As is the case with all of our rankings, this is a ranking based on college projection and potential, not necessarily who the 50 "best" players in the state will be this season. We kick off our countdown with a look at prospects 46 through 50. (A hat tip to Scott Burgess at Prep Hoops Illinois for the idea for this series of articles.)

(46) [player_tooltip player_id='1174816' first='Toryn' last='Severson'] | SG | Madrid | 2025

Severson is a skilled three-level scorer who does a great job letting the game come to him. He has an innate sense of when he needs to take a game over as either a scorer, a playmaker, or a defender. At 6-3/6-4, he has good size and length on the perimeter, and he uses his length well on the defensive end. He's a pure shooter off the catch who moves without the ball in his hands, and he has improved as a ball-handler and facilitator over the last year. He's a high IQ player who will make a quick impact at whichever school he ends up at.

(47) [player_tooltip player_id='1514455' first='Mason' last='Matson'] | PG | Linn-Mar | 2025

A fast, high IQ guard who puts pressure on opposing teams on both ends of the floor with his quickness and intelligence, Matson is a playmaker first and foremost who loves to play downhill and attack the rim. He's a good athlete who can finish above the rim in transition, and he does a great job moving his feet on the defensive end of the floor. If he's able to become a more consistent shooter, he could be a player who skyrockets up these rankings when we do them next year.

(48) [player_tooltip player_id='1381421' first='Nitish' last='Sankaranthi'] | SF | Waukee Northwest | 2025

Sankaranthi is an intriguing prospect because of his blend of size, length, and mobility. He can provide some real versatility on the defensive end of the floor, defending multiple positions and providing some value as a rim protector and rebounder. He needs to add some strength to his frame and become a more consistent offensive weapon, which is why he has fallen a bit in the 2025 rankings lately, but there is still a fair amount of potential here.

(49) [player_tooltip player_id='1171686' first='Gavin' last='Thomas'] | SG | Aplington-Parkersburg | 2024

Thomas is a coach's son, and you can tell when you watch him play. He has a great feel and understanding of the game, doesn't force anything, and is capable of doing a little bit of everything for his team on either end. He's a good team defender who moves his feet and communicates on that end. He's also a fantastic shooter who is equally adept off the dribble or the catch. He recently committed to play at NAIA Northwestern, where he'll give the Raiders a solid all-around two-guard.

(50) [player_tooltip player_id='1476938' first='Jack' last='Wynter'] | SG | Ames | 2024

Coming out of Ames, you know that Wynter is going to be a well-coached player on the defensive end, because he wouldn't be playing for Vance Downs if he wasn't going to contribute on that end of the floor. So that's already a big checkmark in terms of what college coaches are looking for. Additionally, he's a really good shooter both off the dribble and the catch, and his size and length are a major attribute on the perimeter. He needs to continue to improve as a playmaker off the bounce for his teammates, but his shooting and defense will be of value at the next level.

We recently released updated rankings in the classes of 2024, 2025, and 2026. But what would the rankings look like if we took all of those classes and threw them together? This is our Iowa Top 50 Prospects, Regardless of Class.
