Suncoast Basketball Club notes pt. 4

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>IMG Academy and Suncoast Basketball Club partnered to bring hundreds of juniors and seniors to their camps for two days of competition. While campers showed off their talents, coaches from all levels sat courtside to evaluate their talents. After talking with coaches and reviewing my notes, here are some of the top performers from Saturday's season. The 5'10 senior playmaker knows how to operate a pick and roll. He's a good passer who can throw darts in traffic and rack up assists with the roll man. His speed and quickness make him a transition threat.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Preetham Yelleti</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Yelleti is a 6'6 forward who can space the floor. His size allows him to be an effective defender and rebounder. Impressive flashes off off movement shooting.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Caden Douglass</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Douglass is a high-flying athlete whose toughness allows him to play bigger than his 6'3 frame. He lives above the rim on both sides of the ball. The unsigned senior has several tip dunks and blocks in the square. He will dunk it with authority if whether he's in transition or he has a free lane in the halfcourt.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Mario McDonnough</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 5'10 senior was the shiftiest guard in attendance. Here, he has the ball on the string and uses his handle to prove the paint. Every move he makes is quick, but he also has the pace to shift gears. He balanced playmaking and scoring well during the camp. He can get a bucket whenever he wants and draws the attention of other defenders, which opens up his playmaking.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Jack Walter</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Walter could be a surprise addition to an IMG team. The Hawaii native plays with pace and makes plays for others. There's signs of movement shooting and finishing layups through contact.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='1055723' first='Nicho' last='Simes']</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Simes had a solid showing with a combination of defense and handles. He's a physical defender who uses his quickness on ball handlers. The unsigned senior can get to his spots and shoot off the dribble.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
