He looked impressive, and made a lot of winning plays. The 6'1 wing showcased his ability to guard several positions on defense, and used his strong frame to wall up offensive players on drives. With the ball in his hands, VanDis looked comfortable driving to the basket and finishing through contact. One thing that really stood out to me was VanDis' willingness to make the extra pass. He understands how basketball should be played, and values each possession offensively. He plays with a ton of heart and passion, which most people lack. At 6'3, he is a strong and sturdy wing with great energy and activity. Spann did a nice job of attacking bad closeouts and finishing at the rim. He also knocked in a couple of three point shots when the defense did not react quick enough. For his size, Spann is an excellent rebounder, and is not afraid to mix it up inside. The wing out of Louisville, Nebraska is capable of scoring by attacking the rim and with his back to the basket. He had several tough takes and finishes at the rim. He's also a solid rebounder and defender. Ostblom forced several turnovers because of his ball pressure and intensity in which he plays with. No matter his matchup, he constantly looks to make a play. In one of the games I caught, Bowhay went ballistic from behind the arc. He is a true shooter with range that extends behind the three point arc. With the ball in his hands, Bowhay is crafty enough to create his own shot as well. Unfortunately, Houston suffered an injury on a drive to the basket in the first game of the day. While his play was limited due to his injury, he looked really good in the little I saw of him. Houston created plays for himself and had a couple of beautiful, no-look passes to his teammates. He is a true point guard with an elite scoring ability.
