The Dickinson HS senior combo guard shoots at an efficient clip from range as well as getting to the rim and finishing through contact. He knows when to pass to an open teammate and is a great motivational leader on both ends. Chong has been one of my biggest Class of 2025 stock risers in the city and will continue to play at a high level wherever he decides to attend college.

His proficiency in operating in isolation out of the triple threat position was impressive, he could create separation in just a few bounces, leading to clean looks at the rim. Chong excelled at creating angles with his dribble moves, consistently dictating the actions of his defender and keeping them off balance. This skill not only allowed him to find open shots but also showcased his potential to translate these abilities to the next level.

His efficiency running the offense was what stood out to me among his other traits and he was always able to keep his teammates involved. Chong had several tough and-ones and even slammed down some key dunks that helped to swing the momentum fully towards Dickinson in the afternoon. He shows off a high IQ with the ball in his hands as he brings up the court and had several thread-the-needle passes to wide open players for an easy basket. If he continues at this level, his facilitating dynamics can really set him apart in the 2025 Houston guard class.

He plays with elite reaction time that often catches defenders off guard. Chong is phenomenal at attracting attention, making him an effective playmaker who anticipates plays before they happen and visualizes where his teammates will be, delivering precise passes accordingly. His ball-handling skills are impeccable, maintaining a low dribble with quick taps that prevent defenders from stealing the ball as he blows by them. Chong excels at finding cutters and duck-ins on the drive, placing the ball where only his teammates can catch it and go up immediately. Throughout the weekend, he was one of the best at letting the game come to him, showcasing his ability to adapt and make smart decisions under pressure.
