Delon Bowen | Prep Hoops Scout
Few players on the floor made the right read more often on this day. He was a dangerous shooter off the catch, but he isn’t limited to spotting up. He showed he can create his own shot off the dribble and run the offense when the ball is in his hands. His jumper is a clean, high-release stroke with real lift. He also ran the floor with purpose in transition and finished at the rim. His shot selection was mature.

A slashing guard who can score in flurries. Great at changing his pace and getting by opponents with pull-back dribbles to either finish at the rim or zip it out to his teammates once the defense collapses. Has good quickness and can burst to the rim off screens, and when he operates on the wing he’ll throw in quick jabs before blowing by defenders. Goes into the paint strong, so he will force contact occasionally while going up. Consistent three-point scorer as well, knocking them down off the catch.

Diamond filled up the stat sheet in a win over Midwest Basketball Club with 16 points, two rebounds, two assists and three steals. That defensive impact is where I was most impressed with Diamond as he provided tough on-ball defensive pressure and Diamond is explosive enough to turn those steals into layups and dunks on the other end. Diamond holds Division I offers from a handful of mid major programs on the west coast and projects as an impact perimeter defender with the quick twitch athleticism to pop at that level. I’d expect schools that have already offered him to make him a priority this summer as he will not be overmatched physically in college.
