A Class of 2027 prospect playing up with Team Blaze Select ‘s 17u squad, Walker was part of a backcourt duo that nearly brought them all of the way back in the second half against Team Tradition. The 6’0″ guard started heating up from beyond the arc, making some tough jump shots, and creating off of the dribble as a driver. His ball skill really stood out while playing against older, talented competition. One to watch at Bloomington North.

My last game of the evening saw Team Blaze Select blow out their opponent with a balanced scoring attack. I ended up selecting Walker as my featured player due to his ability to attack with either hand off the dribble and finish at the rim. Playing up an age group, Walker was a quick athlete who attacked closeouts and made some simple, yet unselfish passes to allow his teammates to get easy looks as well. Team Blaze Select will look to build on this performance as the weekend progresses.

Team Blaze Select 17u brought a group of players from in and around the Bloomington area to The Stage this weekend. Walker, a 6’0″ playmaking point guard was one that stood out as they went 2-2 against some strong competition. He is very quick with the ball in his hands, got consistent paint touches, and made good decisions from a live dribble. His ability, and willingness, as a passer was very impressive especially considering he was playing up a year at the 17u level as a Class of 2027 prospect.

There is a good deal of young talent coming through the Bloomington North system right now and this 6’0″ guard prospect is an under-the-radar name among the bunch. His ball handling ability stood out in both 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 play as he was able to create scoring opportunities for teammates off of the dribble. His positional length also made him disruptive on the defensive end of the floor.
