Mason Neumann had a big summer and has shown improvement in all measurable areas. He is bigger, stronger, faster, more skilled, and playing more aggressive. He showed his improved handle and used it to work his way to the rim and finish whenever he wanted. His ascension will be key to Zachary on their path to a repeat. He added 10 points, and they were all earned the hard way. If there is a game when the shots aren’t falling, Neuman has the chops to work in the paint and convert on key possessions.

Newman was a surprise standout at the camp. His role for his high school team is complimentary. He rebounds, defends and scores in transition for Zachary. At The Expo he showed all of that and more. He could easily be a lead guy for a winning program. He has a solid handle and a nice stroke from the mid-range and from three. He has exceptional size and uses it to get to the rim at will and he has a complete finishing package at the rim. He was special throughout the showcase and proved that he is a stock riser in the state. He looks to have grown a couple inches as well. His performance was truly deserving of his first team selection.
