As we all know, the AAU season is finished or a few days away from being complete for the local teams. Prep Hoops Dakotas has a Year-End Review for you today. We are looking at [program_tooltip program_id='2075723' first='ND' last='Attack'] 15U. This group frequently had success during the AAU season. [program_tooltip program_id='2075723' first='ND' last='Attack'] 15U West has a cast of up-and-coming players that you will want to keep track of. See below for much more info.

The [program_tooltip program_id='2075723' first='ND' last='Attack'] 15U West team had a very good spring/summer AAU campaign. They finished with an overall record of 19-13 with many of those losses coming in very tight games. The players improved tremendously from the beginning of the season, and really meshed well together as a team. Everyone saw the role they could play with this squad and looked to fill it to the best of their potential.

[program_tooltip program_id='2075723' first='ND' last='Attack'] 15U West ended up winning 3 Divisional Championships in the 7 tournaments that they competed in. They won Division Championships at the Sanford Spring Jam in Sioux Falls, the Great Plains Alliance in St. Cloud, and the Sioux City Classic in Sioux City Iowa. They also had a 2nd Place Finish at the Dakota Niners Tournament in Watertown, SD. All in all, it was a very successful season!

"I think the highlight tournament for the year for this squad was at the Great Plains Alliance in St. Cloud. We faced a lot of tough competition, and even though we did suffer a loss during that tournament - it was the best team basketball we had played all year. The Team also went 4-0 at the Sanford Spring Jam to wrap up that Championship, which was the only time during the season that they went undefeated during a tournament." -Bob Beaudrie

Player Comments from Coach Beaudrie

#1 [player_tooltip player_id='1510891' first='Kolby' last='FastHorse'] |6'3 PF| Dickinson

"Kolby is about 6'2 or 6'3 but plays the middle offensively and defensively like he is much taller. He was often given the task of defending the other teams top big, which a grand majority of the time, he was giving up a lot of size too. Kolby - when focused and on his game - can really control both ends of the floor. He has good footwork, and is a very good passer."

#3 [player_tooltip player_id='1510889' first='Boston' last='Cranston'] |5'10 G| Dickinson

"Boston is a floor general in every true sense of the word. He has a high basketball IQ, and he definitely logged the most minutes for this squad. He is a great driver/slasher to the basket, and by the end of the season - he was becoming a major outside threat as well. We won a couple of games this year in the last second by Boston finding his way to the rim and finishing. Boston is a very good defender and has the skill and potential to be a great player in HS!"

#5 [player_tooltip player_id='1921182' first='Gavin' last='Parnow'] |5'11 G| Hettinger/Scranton

"Gavin played a lot of different roles for this squad this season. He isn't naturally a post player but found himself playing the post position quite often if Kolby wasn't on the floor. Gavin also has a nice outside touch and is deceptively smooth on the offensive end. Gavin was very physical on the rebounding side of things, and he consistently was in great position to rebound as he always had a body on someone."

#11 [player_tooltip player_id='1632628' first='Parker' last='Jacobson'] |6'1 G| Washburn

"Parker joined our squad for the last three tournaments of the season. He was a great pick-up! Parker is absolutely deadly from the outside! If he has an opening, it is probably going to go in the hoop. He found his role quickly, and the boys really looked for him on kick-outs as they also believed he would make it every time we were able to give him a good look."

#14 [player_tooltip player_id='1632697' first='Payten' last='Lindbo'] |6'0 G| Our Redeemers

"Peyton is the left-handed version of Parker. He had a few games this year where it didn't matter where he was on the floor - if he had a millisecond to get his shot off clean - it was falling through the bucket. Peyton probably led us in made 3-point shots this season, and he had a couple of games in which he had 5 or 6. Peyton knows how to get open, and communicates well when he has the opportunity to catch and shoot."

#20 [player_tooltip player_id='1511062' first='Rocklin' last='Beaudrie'] |5'9 G| Westhope/Newburg

"Rocklin is our most aggressive defender. Rocklin is usually tasked with guarding the opposing team's best perimeter scorer and he does an excellent job! Rocklin gets his body in front of the ball well, and as a result - led our team in charges taken this year. He has a knack for being in the right place at the right time defensively and he frustrates the opponent consistently. Rocklin also can be a scoring threat as he had 2 or 3 games this season where he would knock down 4 or 5 threes."

#30 [player_tooltip player_id='1510892' first='Brayden' last='Blikre'] |5'11 G| Minot North

"Brayden is our most athletic player. Brayden can play any position 1-5, and do it well. Brayden led us in scoring in many of our contests this season and is a legitimate inside-out threat. Brayden makes big plays - as he had quite a few times during the year, made a big defensive stop - or hit a key shot when we needed it. I look for big things from Brayden in his HS career."

#41 [player_tooltip player_id='1632699' first='Collin' last='Swenson'] |5'10 G| Our Redeemers

"Collin is just one of those kids that is impossible not to love as a coach! He communicates well, understands the game, is extremely coachable, works his tail off, and never takes a possession off when he is on the floor. He is extremely unselfish - almost to a fault, and is a total team player! Collin was the glue that often held us together on the defensive end. His constant communication and workhorse mentality rubbed off on the rest of the boys and was very evident on the defensive side of the ball. Collin also could hit from the outside when left open and had a lot of great assists over the course of the season. Collin never quits, and he is the type of kid a coach loves to have on his team, and the type of kid a coach hates to play against for the same reasons."

#52 [player_tooltip player_id='1845252' first='Gunnar' last='Jost'] |5'9 G| DLB

"It took Gunnar a couple of tournaments to really get comfortable and figure out his role on this squad. After he did though, he became a great threat on the offensive end. Gunnar has a quick catch-and-release shot, and when he gets hot - look out!!! Gunnar provided a huge spark in many of the games throughout the season. Whether it be knocking down back-to-back 3's or driving the lane and making an acrobatic lay-up for the and 1 - he was an extremely viable threat on the offensive end! I believe Gunnar has a tremendous upside and is only going to continue to get better and better. I would say that Gunnar was probably our most improved player from the beginning of the season to the end. He definitely was more confident towards the end of the season."

#55 [player_tooltip player_id='1921183' first='Ethan' last='Luna'] |5'9 G| Dickinson

"Ethan only played in about half of our tournaments, but there was a lot of improvement from the beginning of the season to the end. Ethan is extremely quick and athletic. If he was able to break out in the open court - he was going to beat anyone and everyone to the rim. Ethan might have been one of our leaders in transition points, and he only played about half of the total games of the season. Ethan can be a pest as an on-ball defender as well. It is hard to beat him off the dribble as he was usually so much quicker than his match-up. Ethan is a worker, and he has a non-stop motor, which also provided a spark for our team when we needed it."

"This was a great team to coach, and the season was a lot of fun! I am very excited to watch these boys during their High School careers as they all have improved so much. The biggest improvement we made as a squad was the understanding of spacing and movement of the ball and the body on offense. When we had more movement and more ball reversals - we were able to get a lot of great looks on the offensive end. I think that is something that really started to resonate with them toward the end of the season, and hopefully, they will bring that mindset back to their own teams as it is a universal truth in the game!" -Bob Beaudrie
