I spent most of my day at the Phenom Summer Havoc event in Fort Mill, SC, with plenty of teams and players of interest getting after it. He shoots the ball extremely well, with a lefty stroke that is repeatable and quick. However, he can still play as an athlete on the drive and above the rim. He's a strong finisher who isn't afraid of some contact and embraces the physicality. What's most obvious is his positive attitude and swagger towards the game when he is playing well. He knocked down jumpers with good lift, got to the mid-range, and finished well at the cup. He's undersized but dynamic in the open floor or any kind of space around him. Not only does he have the talent, but he gets hot in a hurry, able to ignite runs by himself and score without having to take great volumes of shots. Defensively he works hard and has a surprising leaping ability which allows him to contest taller players shots and protect the rim at times. He rebounds really well but impacts big time as a shot blocker. Help side, on the ball, you name it, he's blocking your shot. Offensively he's still playing around the rim and making his impact felt there, but he runs hard and does what's asked of him. He profiles as a D3 or JuCo guy who still needs some work, but has real potential tools as a rim protector and rebounder on both ends.","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_3_player":["1774476"],"_player_evaluations_3_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"Patterson was doing everything he wanted to this afternoon for his NLPB group, showing off impressive athleticism all game long. He's got great lateral shiftiness and pace that makes defenders always play on their back heels, and causes lanes to open up for him both as a driver and passer. He took his opportunities well, getting creative under the rim and really making the defense work hard to get him to pass out. He can shoot it solidly and makes the defense have to play up, further opening up his ability to attack the paint. I really liked what he can do as a big point guard in an offense, and should start to have more suitors in his recruitment after the live period.","_player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_4_player":["1892439"],"_player_evaluations_4_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"Powers is an undersized forward that just puts up numbers every time he plays. He swallows up everything that goes up, both as an offensive and defensive rebounder, which makes his teams perform much better. Offensively, throwing it in to him yields good results, as a simple post game gets things done offensively. He can drive the ball a bit, shoot it a little as well, and provide a little bit of everything as a scorer. Ball skills also are there, with a better handle than average compared to most forward prospects. He's good at everything, but needs to develop an elite skill to put in him on higher level schools radars.
