The Summer Challenge event in Chicago this past weekend was a huge success with teams from around the country and even Australia coming in for the event. Here is our 17U All-Tournament Team!

1st Team

Benjamin Tweedy (AUSA Ed)

Tweedy was excellent throughout the event with his passing helping lead AUSA to a perfect weekend. The lead guard has size at 6'4” with elite passing vision. Set his teammates up all weekend with passes in the half court, transition, and on the move. Found big guys for dunks and shooters for threes. This kid can score too! Plus athlete that puts it on the deck with burst. Low-majors should take a look during the live period!

[player_tooltip player_id='1157205' first='Dekwon' last='Brown'] (Denard Bros)

Brown had several monster games. Closed it out with an 8 three pointer game. We also saw him score effectively from all three levels while still running his team. Electric scorer with the ball in his hands that can get buckets whenever he wants, but is really showing growth as a lead guard running his team. Was also active defensively.

[player_tooltip player_id='2104829' first='Mitch' last='Humphrey'] (Greater Purpose)

Humphrey was lights out shooting it from distance in the first game of the event as he drained seven from beyond the arc carrying them to a victory over Mac Irvin Fire. Humphrey is a plus shooter with size that provides big time shot making and when he gets hot like in this game can carry a team.

Ahmere Carson (Mac Irvin Fire)

Carson was a standout a year ago on the Prep Hoops Circuit for EG10 and did work for the Mac Irvin Fire during their Saturday games. Strong bodied southpaw is a straight bucket getter. He notched 22 points in that game using his lethal three point shot along with finishing well absorbing contact at the cup for buckets.

[player_tooltip player_id='1379224' first='Jaiden' last='Harrison'] (Corey Graham Elite)

Harrison has a bright future as one of the more intriguing guards out of New York. For Corey Graham against AUSA he went for 26 points as the combo guard got whatever he wanted. Pull up game was on point from both two and three in this one as he stopped and popped over and over again along with mixing in some runners. Low-major and mid-majors would be wise to invest some time here!

2nd Team

Benjamin Kaye (AUSA Ed)

Like what Kaye brought to the table up front for AUSA. The athletic 7 foot center is a big time rebounder that finished out of the dunker spot, showed mobility, and blocked shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='1432523' first='Connor' last='Woodin'] (All In Athletics Gold)

Lights out three point shooter! Woodin hits them from deep with the best of them and that was on display over the weekend for AIA.

[player_tooltip player_id='1545137' first='Jalen' last='Crues'] (M14 Adidas Gold)

The Wheaton North power forward brought the energy on the glass getting put backs, rim runs, and playing with intensity on the defensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id='1764717' first='Camden' last='Cerese'] (Greater Purpose)

The leader of Greater Purpose was good as both a scorer and facilitator. The Lake Park product has helped his stock over the last month.

Liam Switzer (AUSA Ed)

Switzer did a phenomenal job on the boards all weekend. Great feel for where it is coming off. Carves out space offensively and has touch.

3rd Team

[player_tooltip player_id='1295644' first='Treshawn' last='Blissett'] (M14 Adidas Gold)

Long and wiry small forward showed his toughness and grit slashing to the hoop, rebounding, and on the defensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id='1978579' first='Camden' last='Lathos'] (All In Athletics Gold)

Lathos is a five man that can score inside and out. That is what Lathos continues to bring for AIA with his touch around the hoop and stretching the floor with his shooting.

Tolu Samuels (Hoops 4 Health)

Unsigned senior from Hillcrest that brings athleticism on both ends and did a great job using his long strides getting to the rack.

[player_tooltip player_id='2104966' first='Fountain' last='Thomas'] (The Work Foundation)

Thomas stood out for us with The Work Foundation. The lead guard can really score off the bounce showing burst getting to the cup in the half court and transition.

Tay'Shun Russell (Meanstreets Napier)

Russell is a smaller scoring lead guard from Crete Monee that had an excellent showing on Sunday hitting an array of jumpers and using his speed in the open floor.
