The Romeoville Live Shootout provided a great opportunity for us to evaluate many of the top prospects from across the state. Now we review what we saw including here in Romeoville Live: 2024 Top Performers Pt 1!

[player_tooltip player_id='1285481' first='Noah' last='Cleveland'] (Normal Community)

Cleveland was outstanding in our first look at him since returning after missing his junior season. He looks taller, stronger, and was more assertive than ever. The big man was excellent at scoring around the hoop posting up, in the high/low game, and dominated on the offensive glass often getting his own misses for put backs. The skill and toughness combination was impressive. If he wants to play in college I can see a low-major school in his future!

[player_tooltip player_id='1172774' first='Braylon' last='Roman'] (Normal Community)

Roman is an athletic shooting guard that can impact the game in a variety of ways. Good mid-range shooter that knows how to get to his spots for buckets. Crisp ball handler that creates off the dribble for himself and others. Liked the way he passed it for an off guard throwing lobs and putting his teammates in position to score.

[player_tooltip player_id='1965004' first='Sam' last='Lappin'] (Glenbrook North)

Lappin is a point guard that has had an outstanding couple months. He is a lead guard that is a great floor general getting others involved, but can score it in a major way with his pull up game, spot up shooter, and soft touch finishes around the hoop.

[player_tooltip player_id='1157352' first='Jaylan' last='McElroy'] (DePaul Prep)

McElroy is a four man that quietly impacts the game in so many ways. He is a mobile post that scores around the hoop on put backs, offensive rebounds, rim runs, and can attack from the mid-post. His rebounding and defense are super impressive with how well he anchors on the interior snatching boards and being a switchable defender. Blocks shots and is a winner.

[player_tooltip player_id='1157223' first='Nojus' last='Indrusaitis'] (St. Laurence)

The top wing in the state continued his strong June with his new squad. The Iowa State commit had it rolling with his three level scoring pop. One of the more lethal bucket getters we have had in the state in the last couple years. Shot it well from distance over the weekend along with a few impressive rips to the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='1750704' first='Davis' last='Bynum'] (East St. Louis)

Bynum is gaining steam after an impressive June. Long and lanky small forward that has a feathery jump shot which he drained from mid-range and three. Lot of projectability in his game. Clearly the top prospect for the Flyers this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1373436' first='Angelo' last='Ciaravino'] (Mt. Carmel)

Ciaravino won June from a prospect standpoint. He was the best player we saw throughout the last two weeks. He has great positional size pushing 6'7” with a lights out three point shot and the explosiveness and strength have taken his game to a new level from an athleticism standpoint. Got to the rim with burst throwing down big dunks over and over again. Rebounds well for his position and has a good skill set all-around on the wing. Mid-major plus prospect with high-major potential.

[player_tooltip player_id='1750596' first='Rashad' last='McKinnie'] (Simeon)

McKinnie got hurt in the [program_tooltip program_id='2076046' first='Wolverines' last=''] last game, but before then had a strong outing in the first game we saw of his on Saturday morning. The lefty two guard shot it well off the catch and mixed in a few aggressive takes off the bounce. It was his spot up shooting and always stellar defense that stood out for us.

[player_tooltip player_id='1285523' first='Phillip' last='Erickson'] (St. Ignatius)

Erickson elevated his stock emerging as a big time shooter from the point guard spot. He had several games where he knocked in a plethora from distance including the one we saw where he was on fire from deep.

[player_tooltip player_id='1285519' first='Stefan' last='Cicic'] (Riverside Brookfield)

Cicic had a huge game against Simeon going for 20+ points with his efficient low post scoring. Garners deep post position and finishes through it with hook shots and dunks. Like his skilled footwork around the hoop, passing out of the post, and how he defends in the paint. Something to track is the evolution of his face up shot which we saw growth on.

[player_tooltip player_id='1158757' first='Meyoh' last='Swansey'] (Romeoville)

Swansey is a combo guard that leans toward a two. Good length and can win on straight line takes and hit a pair of corner threes in the game we saw. Liked the growth we saw as a passer especially kicking to shooters.

[player_tooltip player_id='1541230' first='Connor' last='May'] (Palatine)

May is a small forward that is mostly known for his elite shot making from three. In the game we saw he only hit one from beyond the arc on a spot up three from the corner. Mixed in some post scores, reverse layups, and an and-1. Decent defender as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1541246' first='Braeden' last='Carlsen'] (Wauconda)

Carlsen started off his game with a big burst coming out aggressive especially with his shot making ability from mid-range and three. Strong bodied wing that rebounds well and crashes the offensive glass for put backs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1978577' first='Calvin' last='Worsham'] (Christ the King)

Worsham is a four man that is slightly undersized at about 6'5”, but has a lot of tools to like. The lefty has a strong frame and a big time second jump on the offensive glass for put backs. Can also put it on the deck from the mid-post for scores along with ripping on the baseline.

[player_tooltip player_id='1285496' first='Jason' last='Jakstys'] (Yorkville)

Jakstys is continuing to gain steam with his play the last two weeks. The combination of athleticism and added strength make him very intriguing as he has always had the skill to score on the block with good footwork and stretch with his shooting. High level shot blocker as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1375062' first='Ian' last='Brown'] (New Trier)

Brown lit up Rolling Meadows just like last season when he hit 12 triples against them. It wasn't quite that many but the rising senior is proving to be one of the better shot makers in the class from beyond the arc.
