About Alec
Expert Analysis
Tony Roe | Prep Hoops Scout
Lovely nearly carried Treynor into the 2A title game, routinely hitting huge shots from 3 to keep the Cardinals in striking distance. He was going shot-for-shot with Clair and Schon throughout the second half, seemingly gaining more confidence with each one. He can be a streaky shooter, but he has proven time and time again throughout his career that he’s a player who steps up in Treynor’s biggest games, and he did just that again, scoring 26 points on 9-20 shooting, including going 6-8 from 3.

carried the weight of the offense on his shoulders in the quarterfinals. The engine that makes the Cardinal offense go, Lovely led the offense with a confidence and greenlight a leading scorer should have, especially at the 2A level.
Composed as a ball-handler that gets downhill to attack the basket while weaving through traffic, Lovely can also create separation on the perimeter to get shots off. A Simpson commit, Lovely will fit well with the Storm at the D3 level. Lovely led the way in scoring for the Cardinals, putting up 21 points on 7-of-16 shooting. He added three steals.

Lovely is one of the most talented guards in 2A, a confident ball-handler and shot creator who leads the Cardinals in scoring (17.4), assists (4.7), and steals (2.0) on 43-36-75 shooting splits. He has the ball on a string and can blow by just about any perimeter defender.

is another polished player that will be the Cardinals’ most consistent, go-to scorer throughout the rest of the 2025-26 season.
The Simpson College commit showed that off in a variety of ways, taking advantage of the Crusaders’ 2-3 zone, particularly as a shooter. On the outside, Lovely used a shot-fake to send his defender flying, and promptly drilling a wide-open three to make them pay. He also exposed holes in the zone, stepping in and making easy two-point jumpers with ease. With a confident, pretty looking shot from almost anywhere on or inside the three-point line, opposing defenses can’t give Lovely much space for fear of him knocking down shots all night.
