as told me by a scout was the best player at the All Star game and it wasn’t just about his ability to score. His approach to the game, maturity and mind set is what makes him such a high level prospect. He is a 6’7 wing player with elite shooting ability from three and at the mid range spot. He is also a serious lob threat and loves to just go up there and get it. His All-Star game MVP was earned among the best in the State. Wherever he lands, he will make an immediate impact.

Lane has returned for his senior season and is already in mid-season form. The championship MVP is clearly an elite player with a path to the next level. He has one of the purest shots in the state and the length to give opponents trouble trying to contain him off the ball. He stays active, constantly moving to make something happen, and he is elite when pulling up and finishing at the rim.
Lane is an energy player. One bucket can completely shift the momentum. He is a high flyer with a coachable and controlled demeanor, always calculated in how he plays. He will be a great addition to any team. His head-to-head matchup against Union resulted in a win, and he is poised to lead this talented Richwood squad to many victories and another potential Top-28 appearance.

No other player in the area made the leap to greatness like Lane did a season ago. The 6’6 wing man was a key component to Richwoods State Championship run while garnering MVP recognition in the process. The silky smooth athlete can play all five positions on the floor and is equally efficient on both ends of the floor. He didn’t make the list last year, but that stops now. I expect another title run for the Ram superstar in 2025. Player Comparison. Brandon Ingram. Grissom Pick #3.

Lane is one of the top players in the state and since his return from injury he has been playing with a chip on his shoulder. He has the size and skill to take over a game and there are not many matchups that he can’t dominate. He shoots the three ball really well and has shown the midrange shot to be one of his most lethal weapons. At his size he can get to the rim as well. Richwood will need a big game from him to continue their quest for a State Title.

Lane has left to gridiron to focus on basketball and that may be a wise choice. He is a long and athletic wing who can handle and shoot it from the perimeter. Lane can also score in the paint and is very effective on the offensive boards. He can defend multiple positions because of his height and length while deterring shots at the rim. His game has various layers that can help his team win on any night.

Lavell “Trey” Lane put on an all around showcase that left no doubt why he is a Top 5 player in the state. With a stat line of 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field, 2-of-4 from three-point range, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks, and 2 steals, Lane demonstrated why he’s on the radar of college scouts and basketball fans.
At a legit 6’6″ with an extended wingspan, Lane is a physical force, and to put it simply, he’s a matchup nightmare. While in previous years, Lane has played a supporting role for Richwood, it’s clear that this season he’s ready to step up as the team’s leader. Many consider Richwood to be the best team in Monroe, and while that’s still to be proven, what’s undeniable is that Lane has put in the work during the offseason to elevate his game to the next level.
Coaches, fans, and recruiters alike should take notice—Trey Lane is ready for the spotlight. His blend of size, skill, and versatility makes him a player capable of taking over a game and putting on a show. Whether it’s scoring, rebounding, defending, or facilitating, Lane has the complete package, and it’s clear he’s poised for a breakout season.

Lane will probably see the most improvement to his game this coming season since solely focusing on basketball. At his present height, he fits the body type of what a prototypical wing looks like on the next level. Lavell can also stretch the floor and attack the rim. His play this summer only gave us a glimpse of what to expect this season. He has a very high upside.
